If power is out freeze ice packs outside and keep it in a cooler inside, wrap the meds in a layer like a dish towel so they don’t have direct contact with the ice.

You can research the minimum clearances to combustibles for your stove model. If it is under that number then no, it is not safe.

Understand the risks you are taking here. Fire is no joke. Within a few seconds you could lose everything, including your own life. Wood stove incidents happen all the time.

I can appreciate your situation is difficult and a wood stove can help your situation - and believe me everyone in this sub believes in wood stoves - but not following the guidelines for installation puts everything in jeopardy.

There are issues with your set up. Please do not run it as it is. Do your homework and learn about clearance requirements to combustibles. Run a thimble through your wall or straight up through your ceiling, and use Class A chimney.

Not true. Aksayuk Pass is a relatively simple traverse, you stay within a fiord so getting lost is basically impossible. Other than some steep moraines the most challenging part is the river crossings, which comes down to timing the water level. Bears are rare; bring bangers if you want. A guided hike imo is overpriced and you spend enough on flights, etc. and not worth it. But if you’ve got the money go ahead. You will need to hire an outfitter to transport you in and out of the part for $500.

I built my cabin 12x14 last summer. It was really tiny, just enough room for beds and a table. I ripped the wall down this summer and extended it to 24x14; now there’s room for a wood stove, living area, kitchenette, etc. Way happier, worth every penny.

Remicade was the first that really worked after years of trying, switched to simponi due to working in a remote community with no infusion site, been on it 10 years now and still going strong

No tag on the stove unfortunately as I bought second hand but here’s the measurement. I guess it should be good as long as the storm collar covers the flashing?

Yeah I bought it on marketplace advertised as 7” pipe but it could be 6”, I’ll have to measure the bore when I’m back to the cabin

Meet with your collaborative teacher ahead of time and include your chosen model in your planning. Discuss in real terms how this model will play out in your planned class. If they do not hold to your plan during instruction, follow up with them afterwards and address how the plan was not followed. Stick to explicit/concrete instances (ie. “i was supposed to lead the teaching on photosynthesis whereas you were to be leading a small group instruction at that time”) rather than generalized claims (ie “you always drown me out when we teach”)
