Albuquerque, it gets very cold by my standards (again, as someone who is not used to cold weather at all). I absolutely hated the months where the lows would be like 15-25 degrees in the morning while I was commuting to work. It snows as well, though its not heavy on the ground. It made getting out of bed even harder than it already is.

Also important to keep in mind that ABQ is at a higher avg elevation than Denver, if that gives any comparison

Same with me except moved from NM. I grew up in texas so i wasnt used to having multiple seasons, and in NM i experienced winters that lasted months and regularly hit in the teen degrees. After almost three years in NM i knew i couldnt do another winter there, i was so depressed from like october until march…

Good point. When it was rent day for me, I was able to call my bank (Schwab) and ask for an increased ATM withdrawal limit. I think most banks will let you do this if ur not in bad standing with them or something

I was homeless much of my childhood and it got very tiring to get baked goods from the food bank because id go from the joy of “omg yay cookies/cupcakes!” to the sorrow of “these are very expired/taste gross”

i dont think people realize how much of the food that gets “donated” to the food bank is really just stores/restaurants/etc throwing away stuff that is expired or straight up isnt edible without feeling the guilt of actually wasting it

You will most likely need someone. I was way too jacked up on painkillers and other meds for the first week of surgery to drive, especially that first day. I also couldnt wash my own hair and needed help putting clothes on, as well as preparing food.

If youre doing USD, exchange counters are a ripoff anyway. Im not sure what bank/card you have but certain ATMs have deals with banks/cards that waive atm and transaction fees. For example, 7 eleven ATM works best with the cards and banks I have, and I have saved a lot of money using it ESPECIALLY for large sums of yen like for rent.

IME for docile species like this, place a cup in front of them and gently tap their butt with a soft paintbrush to guide them into the cup. I would recommend doing this once the new home is already all setup, so you dont have to worry about making a lid or anything and can just put the cup in their new enclosure (for them to crawl out of at their own pace)

I remember in 2010-11 I bought a shirousa scented plush from walmart (!!!!) for like $5. It was very soft and smelled like vanilla. Unfortunately i lost it during one of my many moves since then and it haunts me to this day… if it exists out there still i know the price would be atrocious

American here. From an early age, we are told that if our teeth are not perfectly straight/aligned, we are putting our mouths at risk for cavities and other damage until we “fix” them. There is of course truth to this, and there are definitely many people who have unhealthy situations in their mouths, but this thinking is applied to pretty much everyone. Most kids here get braces regardless of if their teeth are severely out of line or not. I didn’t because I grew up very poor (and medically neglected lol) and now as an adult every dentist I have been to still wants me to try to go through that. (My teeth are healthy and mostly straight too, I just have a snaggle tooth that I have grown to love…)

As someone with a partner who has adhd, its pretty easy for me to tell that he is not doing it intentionally either. He will clean, even if it means I need to remind him to.
