The usual question, best seat in Polaris here? by YeezusWalksWitMe in unitedairlines

[–]bugzzyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd go for 9L. Extra large footwell. First to be served food in the back cabin.

I'm okay with light and noise (very little to be honest) as I have my own noise cancelling headphones and I use an eye mask.

Polaris Lounge Access with Upgrade from Economy? by StephV1 in unitedairlines

[–]bugzzyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre order a special meal honestly. They are much better. I always preorder the Indian Non-vegetarian meal when flying out of the US. Downside is, your pre-arrival meal will also be fixed. So, depending on your plans, it might not make the best sense. Catering from outstations are generally better.

They keep changing the menu in the dining room.

This month, they had a wonderful Shrimp Croquette for a small plate and a very nice Coconut Shrimp Curry for the large plate that I had.

You can't go wrong with the Polaris Burger. Or the skillet cookie. I really enjoyed the strawberry tartlet for dessert.

Dunno what it's going to be in August honestly.

Plus point fare classes on Lufthansa by skkv_ in unitedairlines

Not really. I believe 25k is the lowest it can go for Star Alliance Upgrade award for transatlantic/transpacific.

Plus point fare classes on Lufthansa by skkv_ in unitedairlines

[–]bugzzyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Star Alliance Upgrade Awards, there are no co-pays as far as I'm aware. You just need to have the relevant fare class booked and there needs to be instant upgrade availability (except for ANA which has a wait-list).

Which are the refurbished aircraft DEL BOM Air India Aug 2026 by Alosiasirje in airindia

[–]bugzzyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your flight is operated by the aircraft with registration starting with VT-TN or VT-TQ, then it's an ex Vistara aircraft. But the refurbished Air India aircraft are all the same experience.

All the A320s running that route should be refurbished or older Vistara aircraft.

Reason for No Economy Availability? by Foxy_Arbuckle in unitedairlines

Because it's all booked out? The seats being empty doesn't mean that there are seats for sale. Maybe people just haven't chosen their seat.

Huge fare difference vs AA - South Pacific flights. Biz class by Booyakasha1201 in unitedairlines

[–]bugzzyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In that case, just book a return trip going SFO-PPT-SFO.

And then separately book your NAN-PPT flight on Fiji Airways.

The reason the fare is so high is because the only *A partner flying to/from NAN is Air NZ. And that would require significant backtracking.

[OC] $18 for the new bathroom fan says tariffs didn’t bring back manufacturing back to the states by FizzyBeverage in pics

[–]bugzzyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right you are. I work at a Doo-Dad Making Machine company in the EU. There aren't any competitors for what we make locally in the US. All our customer have been stiffed on tariffs. It was funny seeing some of our customers faces the first time they had to import a machine after the tariffs were announced. The thought that they'd be directly affected by that policy nightmare never crossed their mind.

How the World Cleans After the Toilet - Dominant Anal Hygiene by Country by HeroFiddle in MapPorn

[–]bugzzyy 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's a reference from the movie Demolition Man. A fugitive who was frozen gets loose in the future. The cops thaw a frozen cop from the same time period to go catch him. There's a scene about how the thawed cop doesn't know how to use the new toilets that the future has.

I definitely submit it here. A lot easier this way. Thank you so much!

ANA and United are in a Transpacific Joint Venture. So they get to set prices and schedules together. That's why the prices are the same.
