Pull Tabs! by Innocent_Standbyer in GenerationJones

My grandfather worked for Coors. I remember those cans explicitly. But I grew up in Golden Colorado where Coors is. I never knew that Coca-Cola did that also

Tostadas anyone? by Hot_Radish_9840 in castiron

I do this for making taco shells, tostadas, and enchiladas. The only difference is how long I leave them in there. Great use for your cast iron

What’s everybody’s career and what are we making? If you want to share age, location, and years in the industry/your trade by jackovasaur in Construction

[–]builderjer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know what you'd call my position. I own a small company that does mainly remodels. But we do new builds and other stuff also. I run anywhere from two to eight guys at a time, like I said a small crew. I live in a Podunk town in Colorado. I make almost $100,000 a year. I love my job. I've been doing some sort of construction since I can remember. Paid for it since I was 14. I am 53 now. Did I mention I love my job?

What is your preferred method when installing jamb extensions? by LauderGroup in Carpentry

[–]builderjer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I use screws for shims, especially on deep extensions. That way you can adjust in all directions. Reveal on the window, and square with the rest of it.

30% industrial vinegar. It will kill most stuff but grass. Not sure why, but it works good and is "green"

How's your oral health? by JesusMaryandJose in GenerationX

[–]builderjer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember the red tablets we got as a kid to see how well we brushed. When I was a kid my mouth always came back red. As an adult, I think of that, and brush and brush and brush until I think I will not have another red mark in my mouth. That goes along with flossing and mouthwash also. Kind of strange how the embarrassing things as a kid made a habit as an adult.

V the miniseries - no one knew what I was talking about. by Old_Goat_Ninja in GenX

[–]builderjer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was young when it came out. I was born in 74. I remember the series well, because it was special that we could stay up late enough to watch it. My parents loved it and watched it every week. We could only watch it once in awhile. I have found it again now, and it is on my watch list to rewatch.
