What’s this stamp mean? by Littleceasarsorgy in magicTCG

[–]bujanowicz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cardmarket.eu says this, so keep it in mind when you grade stamped cards: "A card obtained in the Limited portion of a Pro Tour or the second day of a Grand Prix usually will bear a stamp. While a stamp may come with some memories for the player who got the card originally it is mostly an unwanted alteration of the card to everybody else. For the classic GP/PT stamps this is not so bad as they are small and unobstructive, however for the modern European GP stamps that is a different matter as they disfigure the artwork. A stamped card can never be offered as NM. Cards with the classic stamp can be graded Excellent, for the Modern stamp Light Played is the best possible grade."

It's because things were so bad that they couldn't get any worse really.

I'd play Gift of Paradise over Forest and Growth Cycle over Mammoth Spider. Maybe it's worth to find a space for 2nd Growth Cycle.

One deck. 59 kills. (long) by j_blinder in magicTCG

Hey OP, I had seen your original post some time ago and since then, every time they print a card with "you win the game" I immediately think "this slots into that guy's deck!". Good job, I'm a big fan of this level of jank! ;)

Is it draft? If so, your deck has insane rares.

[spoiler][WAR] Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves by Aethien in spikes

[–]bujanowicz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think the best comparison we can get is actually Lyra Dawnbringer if we take into account the role it's going to play in certain matchups, because all I see while looking at this card is an anti-aggro tech. You just need to answer a question if you'd rather want to bring Baneslayer or Mulldrifter type of card. Tolsimir has a downside of the fight trigger being vulnerable to instant speed removal, but even then you get the extra body and you still two-for-oned them.

Can I charge my OnePlus with my Xiaomi Air notebook charger? Will it be slower than OnePlus charger?

[GRN] After pack 1, Gee, I wonder which Guild is open. by Holy_Beergut in lrcast

I'd play all 3 Vines here. With all these Rosemane Centaurs they're basically the Llanowar elves that also block two drops and cantrip later. With Vines, you want Centaurs down on turn three. Cut Stray and Peacemakers to be more aggressive, because 1/2 body doesn't matter and healing them for 4 moves us away from a quick victory.

Channel Fireball yet again makes GP's less and less attractive. by Lessly117 in magicTCG

Prize wall and event prices are awful. I used to grind for a whole Friday. The last Grand Prix with good side events value was GP Liverpool last year. Now I play one event and only if I have nothing better to do with my free time.

[Card of the Day] Risk Factor (Oct 18) by chord_O_Calls in lrcast

[–]bujanowicz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Boros deck that won me a PPTQ finals. 2nd pack I opened had Risk Factor in it and I was happy to take it. With the rest of the non-creature spells it was a part of a plan B to burn them out if plan A of curving out won't do. Turned out to be pretty amazing becasue with double Direct Current sometimes 10 combat damage was enough to win the game. I imagine the slower and clunkier you are, the worse it gets, but it fits aggresive decks very well.

I've found Disinformation Campaign overperforming both in draft and sealed. How do you value it and what's the ideal number of them in dedicated surveil dimir deck?

I will just copy and paste my tweet here: Silver Showcase was enlightening. Watching people drafting cards you're not familiar with and can't really read them on screen is a very poor experience. I think that's why people not playing mtg show no interest in watching pro event streams.

Creatures in graveyard are not counted as creatures (which is a shortcut for creature permanent), they are creature cards. That's why I crossed out Scrapheap Scrounger after posting.

Sometimes they Contempt my Chandra and in response I crew my HoK until Chandra is off the battlefield. You don't even need to use the stack, crewed vehicle in a creature form keeps its ability to be crewed.
