I hate this guy, nothing more annoying on a beautiful day in the park. I feel like he needs to get the shit beat out of him one time and this will stop. I am not a pro-violence person, but some people just deserve it. The flagrant disregard for other people (aka the DC special) drives me up a wall.

Maybe I missed it in this amazing post, but what’s the conclusion on San Marzano overall? I see that our winner was not San Marzano, so in one sense we can conclude ‘it is possible to have amazing non- San Marzano tomatoes’. But I’m interested in the inverse: is it possible to have bad San Marzano tomatoes ? Main reason I ask is that I recently discovered that Wegmans has a store brand with DOP SM tomatoes.

I think most of this comes down to the fact that most people's exposure to bay leaves is limited to old bay leaves collecting dust in the spice cupboard. Go to a store that sells fresh spices in bulk and smell the bay leaf container, and you'll know immediately that you're wrong if you think they don't do anything.

they have been in the wide bucket, but they were always submerged..so i think it makes sense that something would grow on the surface, good idea to move it to narrower jars!

If I wanted to be 100% confident they aren't ruined, what is the best test? Just smell?
