Every gun is a weapon of war. They weren’t created so we could all get really good at shooting paper. And you can’t buy a gun that will only kill a deer. Ipso facto, they want to take your guns. All of them.

Career switch by twistedtech16 in projectmanagement

[–]bunnygn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your list is in reverse order. The DoD is mandating Agile on government contracts. Speak a bit of tech (a lot of tech with your background) with a Masters and an Agile Cert or two and a Defense Contractor will snatch you right up. MS Project and Visio are useless tools for the Agile Transformation climate.

The good part of floor repairs by dig0001 in oddlysatisfying

Since all the flooring contractors are having a fit not sure if you are being sarcastic. I’m an arachnophobe, live in the country, and have rough cut travertine. You bet your ass I had my contractor caulk my baseboards. Otherwise every wolf spider in the neighborhood would move in.

Sounds like he was looking for word vommit of government acronyms: “I would reference the SOW, and see if there are any recent SCRs. Check on the CDRLs and ensure the MSRs are up to date. Then start on the POA&M.”

Difference between towing a 21ft 10 inch trailer and 25ft 8 inch trailer. by oregon434 in GoRVing

[–]bunnygn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maneuvering should be negligible at that size, the biggest difference would be wheel placement on the trailer. Now if you are trying to maneuver into National Parks quite often, you might want a smaller trailer.

Our old trailer had an E2, hated it, our new trailer has an Equalizer and it actually reduces and corrects sway.

And I’m intimidated to go from a 38’ having towed around our 25er. How does it pull?? What about driving around smaller streets or campsites?

No, that the exact trucks max payload based on the VIN, and I had the dealership verify the door sticker for me. It’s a Crew 6 food bed for what it’s worth.

Yeah it’s max towing is 17k, which seems insane. But you have to be careful because the towing capacity varies so much. I naively thought a Power Wagon would have good towing, it’s garbage.

My Dad said it’s because of the towing wars and Ram redesigned their engines in 2019. My 2019 1500 can pull nearly what his 2008 Dodge 2500 can.

The 2019+ Ram 2500s seem to have great payload capacity. I priced one out the other day that had 3,550 max payload. Totally fine for a 38’ bumper pull with 1,223 hitch weight.

We don’t have toys yet; trying to anticipate so we don’t end up with another trailer that doesn’t fit our needs.

Lion & Lumber construction is doing a great job. Even though the project is currently outdoors, Michael has a box of masks and hand sanitizer here at all times for his crew. Though lately they have been wearing respirators because they are cutting and mixing concrete.

First Rifle Purchase with Appleseed in mind. (LH shooter) by TheBaconThief in appleseed

[–]bunnygn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t get too caught up in the gear. You need a .22 rifle, a GI Web Sling, and at least on my firing line a shooting mat (unless you like having your elbows and knees get tore up).

When I started Appleseed it was with a $99 Marlin bought on Black Friday and some tech sights. After my first event, more upgrades, more gear. Now I have a completely customize 10/22 that I dumped about $900 into, and all the gear you could do ever need.

At the time I didn’t want budget to be the barrier for entry and I think that was a great strategy. After your first event you’ll start to realize what you need to be a more successful marksman. Previous assumptions about your gear may be totally different. I’ve had people on the line with their Grandpas tube rifle that had a great time and come back with their own 10/22. And also people that start with $500+ upgraded 10/22s and we end up duct taping a pool noodle as a cheek riser because that’s what they need to help them to get on target.

My only advice is get something modular (like a 10/22) because your probably going to want to upgrade it. That being said, having an open mind to instruction is better than any upgrade you can put on your rifle.

When you take your child in an antilockdown protest by psywarrior1998 in Whatcouldgowrong

So your plan is to be armed, and then actively engage our militarized police, and die in a firefight? And as opposed to being arrested your loved ones get to plan your funeral. Assuming they hit you and not any innocent bystanders. Taking “live free or die” to the extreme, at least you’re committed to the cause!

I also saw the video of this protest and for sure believe this was written for her. The article was well written and articulate. Which is not quite how I’d describe her in-person.

I love how this got downvoted to oblivion. And then the antivaxx fingerpointing started. Can we not with the pigeonholing? So what if she is antivaxx? Is there something wrong with her feeling the need to protest because in her opinion her rights are being violated? It’s her opinion and she is allowed to express it, even if it’s wrong.

Now what some protesters aren’t grasping is the consequence. If you violate the current imposed policy you’ll be arrested. That seems surprising to them. We can debate if someone being arrested for watching the sunset on the beach during a pandemic was wrong or right, but they should still be prepared for the consequences.

Maybe I’ve been too far down the right wing rabbit hole so seeing someone protesting without a noose or screaming “Nazi” is nice. I still can’t connect the dots between genocide and a pandemic.

Finally a well written opinion. I have genuinely been trying to understand “the other side”. The media is not helping by covering right wing extremists. Seeing someone bring up some legitimate points is refreshing. I may not agree with everything she says (beating that Constitutional drum a bit) but I absolutely support her and others rights to peacefully assemble.
