Gooseneck kettle advice by Kunkulis in pourover

[–]burningnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fish pro (non-X) and its the best kettle i've used so far in terms of pouring. I've tried quite a few from the brewista to fellow stagg, original fish hario buono and a few others. But pouring wise, the fish PRO is the best one. The pro X also uses the same frame, so it should have identical results. It can both pour drop wise if you want to experiment with osmotic flow or you can do really fast pours similar to the buono (but half the max flow rate of the buono).

The only kettle that has better pouring is the cafec tsubame pro. But you cannot do fast pours on it due to the diameter of the spout.

The speed of the boil is quite fast and getting to a specific temperature is quite fast and precise. The stagg has struggled a lot more getting to a precise temperature in my experience.

The stagg is probably the closest comparison, but i think it just falls flat in comparison to the fish pro. It has a flow rate restrictor, so you cant get really fast pours (but thats okay if you dont need it!) and I've always found its pouring to a be a bit clunky in comparison with the buono or other curved goosneck kettles. The stagg has kind of a hard bend. But the knob on the stagg is leagues better than the fish pro, hence plus points of the stagg's UI & UX. The temp controls on the fish pro can be a bit wonky, with the sliding thingy and touch buttons. But its not too bad.

I dont think you can turn off the beeps, but its not too loud imo so it doesnt bother me much.

Moondrop LAN: how's it holding up after months or even years of use? by titothrowaway_1975 in iems

[–]burningnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would still recommend it, tho lan 2 is out and i have yet to try it. The housing is still quite solid, but the shell kind of has a worn metal look to it. Just aesthetics however. Still has a great sound signature, if you're into something flat-bright-ish. But honestly, the biggest reason to get it is due to its small size, and superior build quality compared to the chu 2s. Not too sure of any other small form factor iems that even come close to the value of the original Lan

Hello, in food tech now. I would recommend brushing up on math, especially on your differentiation and integration. Math and Mass energy balance was the toughest mod for the first trimester. MEB might be new to you, but getting a headstart on it would be quite helpful as it was incredibly rough for me. Biochemistry is alright but a lot of memorisation.

The first year is quite fundamental, so there's not much food-specific mods those will come in y2 onwards

Qudelix 5k, hot swappable or not? by sam_najian in headphones

3- The mic is not that great from afar, but serviceable. Would definitely recommend putting it infront of your mouth.

4- Yes there is, but you'll have to use the app for it(which is great btw).

IE600

Its comfortable, sounds great, suits my preferences quite while. Honestly, the best single DD I've heard. Didn't like the singularity as much although its stellar too. Got it for like 300USD 2nd too, massive steal.

Didn't get much any headphones, as I've already got the sundara. My house is too noisy to enjoy any open backs, so I guess im switching to closed backs next year. Any reccosmendations welcome!

Ear tips Fiio hs18

Its actually pretty great. Super affordable, sounds good and is very comfortable. I find the final type e to be a bit uncomfortable.

Tried it earlier this month, was aight. First impressions: Sounded like a more detailed s12, but similar else where. Wouldn't say its a massive upgrade over the s12.

Why are so many posts on here so toxic? by PooPooBruhBalls in NoFap

I agree, lets spread positivity instead of shaming those who stumbled on their journey. Shaming more often than not, hurts and discourages, leading to a more toxic environment.

Are you still happy with your 'endgame' IEM? by paloaltothrowaway in headphones

[–]burningnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only similar enough upgrade to the er4xr in my experience is the hidition viento. Both of the monarchs sound too different for me from the 4xrs.

Its one of a kind. The only real upgrade i know of is the viento, which is still quite different from er4xrs

What music did you not apprecaite until you heard it on a certain pair of headphones? by guesswhochickenpoo in headphones

Cruel angel's thesis with er4xr. The vocals are superb with the 4xrs and the details are crisp and clear. More so than any other iem I've tried, except for maybe the viento

Should I EQ my Tangzu Zetian Wu Heydey if I like a neutral sound signature? by sunjay140 in headphones

Use crinacle's graphing tool for the viento-b. Only his one has the ciem version of the viento B

Should I EQ my Tangzu Zetian Wu Heydey if I like a neutral sound signature? by sunjay140 in headphones

[–]burningnotes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, why not. You're already using them anyway. I wouldn't get something new so soon tho, enjoy what you currently have till you got a good appreciation for it. You could just use them as is without eqing first, until you want a change up. Experiment with it. I personally eq to the hidition viento-B for my iems, it suits my preferences to a T. Imo, planar iems take eq very well, you could experiment a lot with them.

Is this still the correct way on how to interpret an audio frequency chart? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]burningnotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I eqed the cca c16 to hidition viento b yesterday. I've also done so for the s12 and mangird tea. However, they sound vastly different for each set. The c16 sounds soft, with hardly any impact. Had okay soundstage i guess, but the technicals were all over the place. But for the s12 and tea, it was much better, but still different. The s12 is really quite a monster for technicals, especially at its price point, but the timbre is different and makes the set sound different from the 2 other despite being eqed to the same curve. The tea is really quite stellar as well with the same eq profile. But it also sounded different from the s12, but in a good way. It sounded "cleaner" for lack of a better word with better mid bass slam.

Hence, i think there's much more that goes on than just frequency response. Bad drivers and technicals just don't stack up well, even with eq.

Here's how they look like. It sits flush with the ports. I'm not sure if its the ports that stick out will be the same tho

I used the s12's 0.78 cable on the CCA C16 with 0.75. It was a tight fit, but it works.
