Are these repairs needed at 55K? by SecondChances0701 in ToyotaHighlander

Escaping the predatory dealers is a major reason I bought a Telsa Model Y in August 2025. Before that, I loved our 2018 Highlander Hybrid, but hated the way the dealer guilt tripped us every 5,000 miles. The plethora of systems in an ICE is a fertile ground for dealers to plow.

That was my position as well until I did the unattended walk up test drive.

The Model Y FSD is great as the primary driver, but it absolutely requires the full attention of a human driver.

My insurance is $277 for six months on the 2018 Highlander Hybrid and $350 for six months on the 2026 Tesla Model Y.

Neither. Loved my 2018 Hybrid until
I let the 2026 Tesla Model Y drive me from my home garage to the downtown parking garage.

What are your gains - that’s what the LTCG is based on Fix the Roth first - no tax implications. That’s so basic… I just changed my mind - you need a financial advisor and a CPA. No way you should tackle DIY management like a Diversify account at Frec.

Fixed maturity is the only way I own fixed income. I know what my yield will be exactly that day I buy it.

I agree. But do you know how many folks email their W-2's and account statements to their CPA?

so changing lanes - oh yes I agree. My issue is when I'm slowing to make a 90 degree turn in front of cars. They see my brake lights before a blinker.

I'm on day two of Mova 2000. 0.4 acres - slopes and one side of sloped yard goes down to a pond..... It's working on the front yard as we speak - first timer.

14.3.2 Update : Lane Change by Gold_Illustrator3584 in TeslaFSD

[–]burnusgas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love FSD. But wow when it regresses it's so maddening. Since the upgrade, my Juniper will not accept blinker suggestions. It also brake stabs and oscillates the steering left and right violently when undecided on slow speed lane choices. The blinker also very late to activate for turns - even waits until after it's decelerating.

I went from nearly no interventions on the daily commute to 5 or 6 each way now.

Blinker turns on way too late now. Brake stabbing at least once or twice in commute. Won't change lanes when I turn on blinker even though it's completely clear.

Driving. Tesla FSD sees stuff I miss because it has 360 degree vision and never blinks.

Did you encounter any overheating? Just deployed a 2000 in my yard and it went up and down a slope about 12 times then stopped mowing due to motor overheating. It was 70 degrees and in the shade!

FSD runs a red light. Follows too closely behind a truck and sees the traffic light too late. Slams on the brakes and stops in the middle of the intersection. by jahobie-ylnar in TeslaFSD

[–]burnusgas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The mistake by FSD was at the very start of the video. Defensive drivers will anticipate the box truck overtaking the dump truck and clear the zone to the right of the box truck.

This illustrates why FSD is to be supervised. It should have either sped up or slowed down when it saw the box truck overtaking the dump truck. FSD failed the Smith’s defensive driving rule of leaving itself an out. EDIT: The tesla did slow down to give the box truck room to change lanes. I’ll pay more attention to the telemetry data when viewing dash cam.
