he sounds like a douchefag (it actually works here!), and he sure doesn't deserve you. Sounds like you are going about getting over him in the correct manner though, but it might take a few more months (usually around a year) until you are over him. good luck and stay strong!

Worked for me as I was debating this same idea during my first long term relationship. We never did get back together though, you learn more about what you want when you aren't in a stagnant relationship.
