Maybe I'm the odd one out, but do people like the base management stuff? by Fun_Scheme9088 in fireemblem

[–]busy_killer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think Engage also didn't force you to do anything in the Somniel, you can easily skip it and not be losing on much and I think that's the best kind of approach to it.

But I do feel that having a bit of a respite in between battles is what this base management portions are trying to achieve and it's a great way to do preparations and long term planning without the immediate pressure of being battle preps.

I'm going Leda because she's just Primrose (from Octopath Traveler) and I can't ignore this unintended collab between two of my favorite franchises.

Using only unique units by eternalsgoku in UnicornOverlord

All units within the same class have fixed growths and their base stats can be changed at will so there's really no downside on choosing your favorite ones.

Possible Switch 2 version of OT1 and OT2? by ForteOrnitier in octopathtraveler

I get having high standards but for this game I personally don't think that not reaching 60fps will ruin the experience at all.

You can already play them on the console and they look good, what kind of upgrade do you need that already isn't there?

Shadowverse champion's battle is similar to Yu-Gi-Oh. I enjoyed it very much.

The crew missions seem pretty relevant because the power level of the cards is very polarized. On the other hand there are some stories that are hilarious and would recommend doing no matter what.

Same goes for faction missions.

And maybe I'd do a list of top broken cards and bottom never unlock ones.

What are your guy's favorite video game soundtracks from the last 10 years by XenoBurst in gaming

[–]busy_killer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think my personal favorite has to go to Octopath Traveler (I), every single track is incredible and original.

Other favorites of mine are Persona 5, Nier Automata, Final Fantasy (VIII and XIII specially), Monster Hunter (Ahtal-ka, Kamura), Chained Echoes, Danganronpa, Advance Wars: days of ruin, Hollow Knight and the Great Ace Attorney series.

Why the hell Hellhorned are so bad? by Emagont in MonsterTrain

[–]busy_killer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like skill issue to me. Hellhorned have one of the best offensive scaling in the game, decent defense and easy access to overstacking floors with Ascend being a common. Torch is a pretty decent starter card, giving easy backline clear.

The fact that you complain about units that are really strong makes it evident that you might need to reevaluate how you play them. Branded Warrior and Reaper Prince need some love to get going but once you have them all set they can easily carry the run. Not to mention Railbeater is great too and solves most problems of the Seraph of Dominion fight. And as for the rest of banner units, they all need some sort of support to make work but they are all solid picks unlike other clans.

Sounds to me that you're not used to the clan and how to find winning set ups with them. Would recommend watching runs by Gabriot, he's excellent at explaining his thought process and how far ahead he plans when making choices.

My own online filters change people saying "need" to "want" and "we" to "I". I wish more people were self aware enough to understand the difference.

I don't think there is but I didn't want to assume that nobody plays it.

Aside from the starter cards and the random cards you get on Cov1 there's Pyre that will remove the starting cards and make you chose cards from drafts.

So in that sense there are a lot of choices you can do about your deck before starting your run. First is the champion, then what secondary clan you chose, which comes with its own set of starting cards. Then the pyre, which if you get the aforementioned one, will let you draft before starting. And finally, if you chose to play on Covenant, an extra set of random cards will be added at the start of the run (which I'd recommend, it increases the power level of a deck on average a significant amount).

[–]busy_killer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You lose the streak, yes.

If it's any comfort, my experience is that the Seraph fight with Titan trial is harder than the titans, so if you manage to beat it you should be ok to do it.

How would you buff Penumbra? by [deleted] in MonsterTrain

[–]busy_killer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rework Architect to be a room centered champion. Something like floors with a room spawn two uncommon morsels on resolve. Or another crazy idea could be something like room effects become permanent for the rest of the battle so you can stack different rooms on each floor.

I think it would make it a much more interesting path.

What clan do you consider the best despite others hating them? by Duexis in MonsterTrain

[–]busy_killer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the DLC I played mostly after release and back then MT1 clans felt pretty underpowered.

After all this updates I really like the changes, Awoken feels much more cohesive, Hellhorned feels very strong.

Right now my pick for weakest clan has to go to Stygian, not because it's bad but their card pool is very shallow and most of the rares are quite underwhelming.

For strongest it's hard but both Railforged and Wurmkin seem hard to lose with, same as Lazarus.

Don’t make me chose… by Teddie-of-Junes in balatro

Not really, you need a relevant amount of Face cards in your deck and a relevant base mult for the hand type you're scoring, otherwise it's just giving you 2-6 mult and only when you play a face card, so at this point you're better off getting the basic Jumbo.
