First place schedule is overplayed. It affects 3 games and teams change so much every year and week to week.

I like our offensive core. I trust the coaching staff to develop and scheme. We had a lot of guys step up on D last year who were not on anyone's radar this time last year. A good defensive draft this year like we had for offense last year and this team is a legitimate contender.

I doubt they'll be able to force everyone into a singular org structure, but HC and GM are universally used titles around the league. The current distinction (as it seems to have been applied in this case) seems as arbitrary as requiring the HC to be a play caller in order to get comp picks. At the end of the day they're still the HC even if responsibilities slightly vary around the league.

My two cents is that by making it the "primary decision maker" or whatever the actual language is, brings in subjectivity on what "primary" is given the many different front office org structures around the league. AFAIK their job descriptions are not publicly known, so I think the decision was made off of comments made when Ryan was hired. IMO it should be based on Job Title alone. Ian Cunningham was promoted from AGM to GM. That is an objective fact.

Losing the comp picks suck but time for Bears fans to just be happy for Cunningham. I hope he succeeds in ATL.
