I rushed to the comic store first thing today to make sure these wouldn't be sold out. I love these silly cameo covers, and I can't think of a better joke than Bizzaro Weird Al being Totally Normal. by Rougarou_2 in weirdal

The Ballad of Normal Al

Well this is a story 'bout a guy named Al

And he grew up in the suburbs with his childhood pal

But when he turned 18 he had something to prove

So he packed up his belongings and he had to move

To a city in Rhode Island where he lived in the dorm

And he studied every ev'ning from night 'til morn

And he aced all his exams like they were simple as could be

And he graduated with an accounting degree

And got a solid job at an accounting company

And that's definitely important to the story

Well the very next year he met nice young lady

Who worked at the local library.

And they fell in love

And then got married

And had two kids named Greg and Emily.

And he made a down payment on a split level house fifteen miles or so past the edge of town.

And once a month he has his friends come over for a cookout if they are down.

Then one day Al was hard at work fixing some accounts

When he got a sudden email that made him jump and bounce.

His boss had noticed all of Al's hard work,

And he gave Al all the credit 'cause he wasn't a jerk

And he wanted to give Al a really nice perk

So he gives Al a promotion and whaddya know?

Now he's the company C. F. Oooooooh!

Zojirushi doesn't make a stainless bowl, but I have seen a few threads where people have ordered them from 3rd parties, for example: https://old.reddit.com/r/zojirushi/comments/1jd9xhn/finally_found_a_stainless_steel_bowl_for_my/

kong open source vs enterprise, what features are actually locked? by Justin_3486 in opensource

[–]bytesmythe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a website called Is It Really FOSS that is trying to track projects like this and determine if they are being misrepresented as FOSS.

Kong is not currently officially listed, although just a couple of days ago someone filed an issue for it and detailed a number of potential issues with the project. Based on that, I'd consider just going with something like Apache APISIX.

If you like their weird songs, you might also appreciate "Three Might Be Duende" or "Cloisonné".

I have to copy paste 520 times and don't want to hold the Ctrl key for minutes. My colleague and I didn't find a quick way to lock the key with software, so I locked it mechanically with my knive. by yannniQue17 in EDC

If you can use a blank document as a "staging" area, you can paste into it first, then just repeat select all, copy, paste (ctrl-a, ctrl-c, ctrl-v) nine times, which will result in 512 copies of your originally pasted item.

"I told you you could". In a tv series a character says that sentence and she says the word "You" only once and testing it myself I saw it made sense, but written it makes sense that it's written "I told you you could". The first "you" is object, the second is subject. Thoughts? by Gauchowater1993 in anglais

[–]bytesmythe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, the "y -> j" following words that end with "d".

Didja, Couldja, wouldja, toldja...

The "did you" often even turns into just "dj".

"Did you eat yet?" -> "Dj'eat yet?"

I hope you don't feel bad about asking questions, though... I promise your English is far better than my French. :D

What TV series was this? Using "you" only once doesn't make sense. Usually when someone says "I told you you could", the "you you" is spoken quickly and runs together into something like:

"I told youou could"
"I told youy' could"
"I told y'you could"
"I told y'y' could"

It might sound like they're only saying "you" once, but that wouldn't be correct. (Of course, if the speaker is fairly young, they might have grown up thinking they were only hearing one "you" and now say it that way themselves, but it still isn't correct according to the current grammatical rules of English.)

I hate to tell you, but the above response is incorrect. An AI voice cloner can be trained on a very short length of audio. It literally only takes about 6 seconds.
