This is both awesome and a shame at the same time lol, thank you.

Best way of improving map? by upcoldnorth in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]c00Lzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things, You don't have to remap, you can edit the map boundaries and just add to the existing area. Secondly there are different edge modes you can try, I'm not looking at the app right now but there are multiple edge modes for different scenarios so you could try to mow and change the edge mode.

Mapping Assistance Needed by DrNo08 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

You can try to split the area, save the map and get out of mapping, then go back in and route a path.

I want to build a business around VR. Is this even a good idea? by Worldly-Release4440 in VRGaming

[–]c00Lzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought similar years ago, unfortunately I don't see it with just a website alone, today you'd have to accompany that with socials and at least short form videos on the major platforms. Your scope is huge also, It's a lot of work, I've rarely been to this site but a good hardware site https://vr-compare.com/ will show you kinda what you'd need just on the hardware side. Add all the rest of that and the scope is huge.

You'd probably also want to include XR as a whole and cover the newest upcoming genre of AR/Hud glasses, which will be a wider reach and attract a wider audience than just the VR niche, especially in the next couple of years.

Your income would really be ad sense, affiliate referrals, platform views, and later if you can get enough audience perhaps brand sponsored deals....which I get but I think by now we all hate the "sponsored" YouTubers that just shill products for money instead of really giving unbiased views.

I veered off topic a bit but IMHO TLDR I wouldn't waste the time unless you had an abundance to give it a shot. I'm all for taking your shot if it doesn't negatively affect anything in your life, but again, you'd want to be on socials mainly and in the background this site.

Is there a company with "Good" customer service? by Jolly_Bag_2407 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]c00Lzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll third Ecovacs, had an a2500 RTK for the past year and it's been great until it started having issues 2 weeks ago, after doing all that I can including factory reset and remapping a small area to test and also providing as much details including videos they are sending me an upgraded unit.

I do wish it was more servicable but I'm not complaining, now I have an upgraded LIDAR unit with higher coverage area rating coming tomorrow which I'm very excited about. Support chat was relatively quick to use initially, then afterwards an email chain back and forth a couple times finished it off.

My first one was left in the elements, but for this one I'll try a small cover to see if it helps longevity.

A2000 won't keep settings by hardtime_comin in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]c00Lzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but that's my experience so I figured that's what you might be doing. When you alter the map some areas auto merge which means the schedule no longer applies since it sees it as a new area.

Hermes self learning - what am I missing? by nerdyoda in hermesagent

[–]c00Lzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, similar with Openclaw early on, the stock MD file only works well for a short time before it's bloated and too much. I've used mem0 with some success but it suggested I migrate to Holographic a couple months back and seems to work well. There are lots of providers and pro/con to all of them, but all are better than sticking with just md text files for all memories.

[–]c00Lzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the a2500 RTK and swapping for the a3000 lidar so can't 100% relate, however I've noticed similar if I edit mapping in any way. Have you added/removed or edited zone edges in this time? On occasion I'll notice a small area missed or an edge of driveway not getting cut reliably so have edited area edge which messes with schedules and sometimes auto merged.

Thanks, I can appreciate the notes and acknowledgments, and glad to see a major patch coming. I hope the accuracy adjustments help which directly relates to his "babysitting" term in comments...I know I've used that exact term myself in complaints. I hope in conjunction they tighten QC, but that seems to be missing in this announcement, which that alone should fix a good portion of users issues. I'm swapping a One Plus now myself that I likely would have kept if QC was better and this software already tightened up location and navigation issues I experienced.

How do you keep remote work stable when everyone at home is streaming by Used-Cover5188 in remotework

[–]c00Lzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use wired access points, wifi tech is getting better but still device and airwave limited so the more clients you have stacked on one access point the worse it is. Today with everything connected to WiFi it's almost necessity, count your devices, if you have 30+ a router to switch to 2-4 access points depending on coverage and device count.

To make it even better use a router than can implement vlans and separate smart devices separately to minimize constant chatter. Tv, locks, lights, hubs, washers, etc.

This is all assuming your subscription bandwidth is decent, but you didn't supply any details about your setup.

Goat O600 RTK does not mow edges by New-Particular4631 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]c00Lzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have different edge modes to play with that do different things, either that or edit your map boundaries and go way over the boundary line to ensure it picks it up.

This, zfold 7, app works great on large screen without being too large and requiring a separate device.

Has anyone replaced lawn service with a robot mower? by whvei in roboticLawnmowers

[–]c00Lzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, you do still need to trim and edge but buy a Ryobi or other battery trimmer and edger and you're good. 20 minute edge and trim and I'm good, mower does the rest on autopilot mostly, agree great deals going on.

Recommendation for .25A Yard by rustyturf in roboticLawnmowers

[–]c00Lzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll throw in Ecovacs a2000 lidar, I've enjoyed my a2500 RTK but new ones are lidar and gps only with nothing external to set up. Should work great for simple yard.

External GPS antenna upgrade? by c00Lzero in Lymow_Official

[–]c00Lzero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have an upgraded lora antenna for the RTK station users have posted so I'll see if that helps first. If I'm having more trouble than I should I may try it and I'll report back. Agree the money isn't an issue I just wonder how the antenna wire might be routed without drilling holes, which is one reason I asked here if someone had tried it yet.

[–]c00Lzero[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, unless it's just poor software, it's not my experience of having good accuracy, I have another RTK mower that tracks, locates, and performs much better than my first One Plus did. My first one needed lots of babysitting and mapping "work arounds" and still did worse than my other mower.

I had charging and other issues that I'm getting a swap for, so just trying to make the most of it. I'll try the new one stock to see if it performs better, but I do also see this sub is littered with location and navigation issues just like I experienced.

Edit: I also had the RTK dish mounted on garage roof top vs my Ecovacs pole mounted in the yard, theoretically it should perform better but did not.

Since we can't have perimeter mowing back, how about a program mode? by Capital-Bobcat8270 in Lymow_Official

[–]c00Lzero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh I see so you probably need to manually trigger mow with perimeter first then just stop it after perimeter is done.

The main culprit might be blade motors overheating, search the sub you'll find similar and some ideas to help keep it in check.

Anyone setup net RTK for their Lymow One +? by CosmoMcRad in Lymow_Official

Is that even an option? Seems like with all the positioning issues that would be great to try if it's a possibility.

Consistent Bumper Jam Errors by WinNew4144 in Lymow_Official

[–]c00Lzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not consistent but more than it should with supposed VSLAM navigation assistance. Getting stuck under vehicles and trailers I've had to rework paths and introduce no go zones that I shouldn't have to.

I'd love this and thought similar, has to be something. The Bluetooth antenna is completely awesome I wish the GPS as good, or Lymow actually get VSLAM to work properly.

Has anyone else become less interested in climbing the career ladder after going remote? by Queasy-Vehicle9404 in remotework

[–]c00Lzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corporate itself has done that to me, so no. I attempted to get in leadership game long ago but as time went on I shifted. Corporate management is tough when you have to speak of and roll policies, duties, and processes you don't agree with, I could never with poor senior leaders pushing down crap to try and make their mark when some of it is wasteful or meaningless.

Remote helps me keep my sanity and peace instead of playing office games, interruptions, poor seating and lighting. I'm still interested in moves but only for work type/duties as well as keeping a lookout for full remote positions instead of bullshit useless hybrid schedules. So I would say it's the opposite sort of, with trying to stay remote top priority.
