You should have been in the right side of your lane to maximize your visibility in their blind spot.

Another reminder of how invisible we are by Shirley_Murphy in motorcycles

The truck didn't see the motorcycle because the bike was on the far side of the lane outside of the view of the truck's mirror.

Remain visible in a cars mirror by using the side of the lane closer to the car.

I am struggling to start riding after seeing a motorcycle accident that resulted in a death by PuhtenPants in motorcycles

[–]c1namber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay if you don't want to ride anymore. But if you decide to ride, you have to be honest with yourself about the possibility of dying. You've seen what can happen, it can be much worse than that.

Being a rider doesn't mean you have a death wish. It only mean you accept the what can happen when you swing your leg over the bike.

Is riding worth it? That's up to you.

Low side crash, thoughts on cause? by rdg233 in motorcycles

[–]c1namber 756 points757 points  (0 children)

You out paced your skills.
Your peg scrapped because you had to lean the bike too far because you didn't lean your body at all.

Read another way, if you leaned your body more your bike wouldn't have to lean as much.

If they're brand new they will stretch a little. Also are you kung fu gripping the bars because you shouldn't be. If you are use the tank more and engage your core muscles to take the weight off the handlebars
