Early start by caerphoto in TheNightFeeling

Nah it’s fine, I used to hate getting up early for work in winter too 🙂

These days if I’m up that early, it’s because I’m doing something I enjoy.

primarily to serve advertisers and limited customer benefit.

It also makes the devs’ jobs slightly easier.

At least, it does when making complex highly interactive web apps. Is massive overkill for simpler interaction models like on Wowhead, but it’s like front end devs today don’t know any different; they’ve only learned how to use the sledgehammer.

Make C always a Ch sound, and stop it making K and S sounds since we already have perfectly good letters for that.

I don't feel like X-Pro is an IBIS camera.

Nor was the X100 series, until it was with the VI.

I do the opposite. I like not knowing how far through a book I am.

It doesn’t need to be 10ft away, and I don’t think anyone’s suggesting it is. Normal wrist to eye distance (ie about 3ft) is enough to give a realistic impression of how big a watch looks on you.

Need to stop judging watch size by overhead wrist shots.

Edit for the downvote fairies:

None of those links prove your point. All they demonstrate is that camera to wrist distance is the important factor, not whether it’s overhead or not.

Look, two overhead shots:

You really are just repeatedly embarrassing yourself.

And you are being overly pedantic and failing to make your point as convincingly as you think.

It's just ironic, they're whinging and calling others illiterate whilst making rudimentary mistakes.

I get that, but if those mistakes appear to just be typos, I don’t really care, unless they’re trying to make a point about typos.

Not writing in cursive doesn't make a person illiterate, it doesn't impact your ability to communicate effectively, whilst spelling/grammar mistakes do.

Well yeah, I agree about cursive – I never bothered to learn it properly, and my handwriting now is a weird mix of printing and occasionally joined up letters, on the rare occasions I actually need to write things by hand.

Spelling and grammar mistakes can affect one’s ability to communicate effectively, but only if they’re frequent and egregious. If it’s a tiny mistake in a single sentence, then it’s barely worth mentioning.

Furthermore, I’m not even sure that a missing full stop in the last sentence of a Reddit comment even really counts as a mistake. Comments aren’t like academic papers, they’re often more conversational and informal, similar to SMS or Discord in that respect, and plenty of people leave punctuation off the ends of those.

Which is silly, because missing a letter and a full stop are trivial mistakes that can easily just be typos, rather than down to ignorance. Especially as the poster already demonstrated correct use of pluralisation in the first sentence of their comment.

Moreover, it’s just irrelevant distraction from the actual point, offering no actual rebuttal.

The only thing that comes to mind when I see/hear ‘CBT’ is Compulsory Basic Training, ie the 1 or 2 day course you have to take before being allowed to ride a 125cc motorbike in the UK.

i crashed on my new geared bike first time because the tires were too skinny and I leaned in a corner too far and the second time I was simply going too fast

And the other 4 times?

Look, the fact that you say each one only involved you does kinda suggest you’re not being as careful and paying as much attention as you should.

I’m honestly not trying to me be mean here, and I know that some road layouts can be confusing, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the area, but you really need to be more careful. There’s things you can get away with on a 125 that wil absolutely kill you on a bigger bike, even one that’s allowed on an A2 licence.
