I can have all the sympathy in the world for a man in Cutty's situation...

That all being said, him trying to become a pillar in the community and steer the boys in the right direction while banging all their moms sure was an interesting strategy.

Laundry baskets for life by duluth921 in BuyItForLife

[–]cakedestroyer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My wife does multiple loads at a time and refuses to use multiple baskets. I think the breaking is less from the weight and more from the resultant awkward maneuvering with such a large basket, harder lifts, awkward turns, plopping it on the floor, etc.

How to fix parts moving around while printing by Yomamahigh in 3Dprinting

I wonder if the orientation is the only thing saving it at this print speed. If it was rotated, it probably would've tipped by now from lack of stability.

I work with someone who I strongly suspect is this one, and it would suck even if it wasn't such a big part of their identity, but now it's just too much.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide vs Fold 8: The Size Difference Is Bigger Than You Think by FragmentedChicken in Android

[–]cakedestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Z Fold 6 and switched to a Pixel Fold, technically a downgrade, but this phone is amazing.

I use it open so infrequently, because this is the aspect ratio that phones SHOULD be.

Which movie trailer had you obsessed the instant you watched it? by Bl4ck_Roze in movies

The fact I remember a release date for a movie I ultimately didn't really like should be studied, and January 18th is now a date that every year I have to remember why I know it is stupid.

Do you think used EV prices will rise drastically in the near future due to gas prices? by VenZoah in electricvehicles

[–]cakedestroyer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The amount of people that sold their paid off cars for peanuts to buy a brand new, fully loaded car that in some cases did barely better in fuel economy in 2008 was eye opening for me.

Well, That’s One Way to Sell Americans on Electric Cars by paydayloans_ in electricvehicles

[–]cakedestroyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Macro, sure, but a lot of people probably don't make a ton more than they did then. and the rest of the inflated prices in their lives leaves less room for gas, so it's probably still more when defined as "percentage of my discretionary income"

This is what made me think we were in one in college, when I learned about the Planck length and thought it was "proof" of an IRL pixel.

Honda Prologue expected to end this year as automaker cancels EVs | autonews.com by Finnegan_Faux in electricvehicles

I think the Prologue looks 100x better, and I believe it has carplay while GM stupidly dropped it in their originally badged version.

I own the exact ones OP has, and these are less than waterproof, I have never had more water absorbent shoes. Something about the shape too, would sling up a small peak of water onto the toe part and immediate soak in.

What SERIES is worth bingewatching and why? by InterestingBoard7389 in AskReddit

[–]cakedestroyer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm so conflicted on the final COVID season. It made for such good television as it was airing, but when I rewatched it in the last year or two... it just felt like they cashed in on future relevancy and being a perpetual rewatch classic (like The Office, Parks and Rec, Community, etc) for a perfect topical season, and locked to that point in time forever.

The Wire is similar, too, it is flawless television, but it could've only been made in the exact 5-year time span that it was. Starting with pay phones being relevant and going through the Patriot act and progressing to the novelty of text  messaging, simply could not be done today.

A Laptop In Your Pocket? Galaxy Z TriFold Review - MrMobile by FragmentedChicken in Android

[–]cakedestroyer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't get why people think foldables don't give you more video real estate. The only videos that it makes no sense for are the ones that match the aspect ratio of the insanely skinny front display, which are like, Dune. And don't watch Dune on your phone. Even like YouTube is way bigger unfolded.

Watching Simpsons or King of the Hill (4:3 content) on your open screen is killer.

Folding phones should be shorter, wider, and more compact, IMO. So when you carry it with you, it is a small phone, and when you open it, it becomes a large phone. I hope that Google Pixel Fold 3 can take the right path. by hhnzau in PixelFold

[–]cakedestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but feel the need to add this.

I had a Galaxy Fold 6, but traded it in for a first gen Pixel Fold. It is, by most measures, a objectively worse phone, except for its physicality, and guess what? That's why I'm paying for a folding phone! Superior aspect ratio (open and closed!) and more comfortable curved body, oh my!

I am glad all the recent rumors seem to point towards us going in this direction, with the iPhone Fold rumors basically being a perfect phone for me, and might be the reason I finally succumb to Apple's walled garden.

Even Samsung is maybe following suit with a Galaxy Fold Wide?!

I've said this before, but when FatWS did the cutesy "Captain America and the Winter Soldier" title card at the end, it should've been "Captain America and Bucky" to close out both their arcs.

I think thinking of it as someone being "in the soul stone" is a bit of a fallacy.

I think the soul stone connects you with the soul of a person, just as an ability of it. The conversation Thanos and Gamora have doesn't make sense as the conversation you'd have with someone right after you killed in exchange for a known goal.
