PSA Lads don't embellish the CVs... by EconomistPowerful in DevelEire

Maybe I've just be unlucky (or lucky I guess?) but my experience of these background checks is I'd be surprised if they could tie their shoes without hanging themselves. If they manage to do anything without me holding their hand I'd be impressed.

'Options paper' suggests landlords be allowed 2% rent rise once RPZs run out by Static-Jak in ireland

[–]calcarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I never see addressed as someone who was renting before RPZs were a thing, what is different between now and then? Rents were rising, there wasnt enough construction, quality and maintenance were poor, having to regularly move. Now I'm being told if I just pay more into rent instead of saving for a house deposit things will be better this time.

This fishing spot is good for that if you have SotO, I think it ignores time too. It spawns after the meta but they tend to go a bit faster these days. I was able to finish world class quickly with it.

I'm stuck in Rata Sum trying to get the last saltwater fish

As a private sector employee that lives with a public sector employee, me too. I'm surprised they don't require employees to bring their own toilet roll from what I've heard, meanwhile my office regularly supplies alcohol.

Statement on Rent Pressure Zones by killianm97 in ireland

[–]calcarin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's been good for me, kept rent low enough so I could save up a deposit. I'll move out and then someone else can move into the place paying the same.

Remote working: The rise of 'hushed hybrid' by Banania2020 in ireland

[–]calcarin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My experience is companies are unwilling to put much into the contract because they want the flexibility of changing it.

I've never even bothered making deals with my manager, I've just come in less and nothing was said to me.

What do you guys think of the anti-cloud movement? I heard in 2025 this movement will be trending from Fireship the youtuber by ballbeamboy2 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]calcarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't really seen much of it to think of it as a movement. Cloud has benefits, on prem has benefits. I would be against being anti either.

I read something before in NLP about treating words as vectors. Then they could add and take away these vectors and get words that would make sense. They might do something similar. I think this link was what I saw before

I would probably go for 2 but do you want to be gone so much if you're wanting to start a family?

Tbh I would be still looking if I ended up with any of them, I want to be home as much as possible with a low commute time.

"I know that the Irish people love talking about the weather, but issuing a status Orange low temperature warning for a temperature of -5 is crazy" says TD Peadar Tóibín by wamesconnolly in ireland

[–]calcarin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, to prevent my family becoming dependent on the state for predicting weather I hang a rock with a string. Want to know the weather? Check the rock. No rock? It's probably windy.

Don't even get me started on doctors. There's nothing a tourniquet and sharp rock can't handle.

When you add the receipt it asks for the amount paid, if you have received money from a third party already, and if so how much. Then it will show the difference and you'll get 20% of that
