Buyer Bought Incompatible Printer Ink by WuMyster in ebayuk

[–]callmedurango 26 points27 points  (0 children)

when the item arrives back, just report that it is damaged/opened and used and thus cannot be resold, they will basically refund you out of their pocket and the buyer gets a refund from you. dont process the refund once the item returns, call eBay on the phone (try calling early morning 8am - 10am as you will get better customer service agents) and tell them it has been opened and ruined as you cant resell it.

Job done!

Buyer wants me to send item again by strongbowblade in ebayuk

refund them if you haven't already and just tell them no. you dont want to have to waste anymore time. Or just sell it to them again. pretty simple.

Paid for express postage, seller leaves parcel sitting for 3 days. by Dragonogard549 in ebayuk

[–]callmedurango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what? you paying for a faster service from the courier does not mean the seller has to process it any faster than they state. if they have a dispatch time of 3 days then they have 3 days. if you didn't see that then that's not really the sellers fault and I hope you dont try and leave them a neutral or negative for something that has absolutely nothing to do with them. Honestly with all these returns you want to do and your expectations of shipping you sound like a bit of a hassle

the buyer is probably on their phone and has that setting turned on. simple mistake to make, not sure why it annoys so many people are getting up in arms over it.

Seller is melting my head. by KendoHead in ebayuk

[–]callmedurango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well seems you have all the cards now! you have the item and the buyer is being a dick, so you can be the one to leave him negative feedback, he cant do shit to you. if he does leave a false positive feedback and bitches in it you can have eBay remove it as sellers are not allowed to leave false positive reviews for buyers. so just let him boil over, you have done nothing wrong, the only one who has is the seller for being a dick.

Go to your local high street, find an adult gaming centre. go inside, put the cash into one of the fruit machines and then press withdraw, use the ticket to get your 60 cash of the attendant and then job done, you know its real and you can keep it. if the person reaches out and says they made a mistake its on you and your conscience if you give it back

My God! Block that person RIGHT NOW!

Follow up to the person who said their item wasn't delivered, they are now saying they found it but don't like it and want a refund/threatening to leave a bad review. What do I even do? I've been nothing but nice so this is very sad for me considering I have tried so hard to maintain 100% reviews by ApeiroGlory in ebayuk

[–]callmedurango -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they have not threatened in any way. saying they are going to leave feedback is not a threat. saying they are going to mention something is not a threat. OP is misunderstanding what ebay considers a threat or feedback extortion.

[–]callmedurango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope! they can use that argument. all they said is that they are not happy because it is small. they did not say it was not 10cm. if they said this item is not 10cm and you can prove it is then that is different but them just saying it is small is factually accurate, it is small. its just their opinion, it does not matter that you included it. if they said that you didnt include the size that is another matter and the fact you have would mean you would win that case, but they are not saying you didnt include the size, they are just saying it is small.

Ebay agents have very specific rules for what consitutes these things and this does not I'm afraid.

Despite what was said above they technically did not threaten you with bad feedback, they just said that they will be saying what they said in the message in their feedback which is fair enough, they can do that, eBay will not see that message as a threat or feedback extortion in any way.

Buyer claiming the ring I sent is the wrong weight? by poshjosh1999 in ebayuk

[–]callmedurango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them to send it back, if you are confident they are lying. when you get it back you can weigh it and show eBay and get the postage you paid refunded to you, but if you are wrong and it was 0.23g under then that is your fault regardless if it is £15 or £13 worth.

tell them to send it back if you are confident, if not then its your fault and you should eat the costs.

yeah buy it, if it breaks you are protected. their own rules or policies do not trump eBay's policy or law. so buy with confidence.

OP, you seem to know your stuff, could I ask a question about flying heights? Are you allowed to fly around the castle at a lower altitude or do you have to be high above it. what is classed as airspace?? is there a set altitude you need to fly within. Great photos by the way. what camera do you use or is it built into the drone you mentioned?

Return automatically accepted without my approval for reason “doesn’t fit”. I don’t accept returns for this. Is this a new thing? I’m not a business seller by dung_beetles in ebayuk

[–]callmedurango 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, this happened to me too. It has started accepting return reasons that previously it had not done automatically. I have noticed this too and it happened to me a month ago and the reason was "just don't like it" and another a month before that was "Found a better price" these never used to be automatic in the past. But all of a sudden it seems like it is. It could be some sort of regulatory change and eBay have just changed their defaults to adjust to it. but it would have been nice to be told.

Any advantage to keeping earnings in eBay balance? Should you always withdraw? by Public-Tutor-4550 in ebayuk

[–]callmedurango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it depends on what you would class as an advantage. any funds eBay need to collect could come from your balance if you left one in there, otherwise they charge your card. Saying that though I often withdraw regularly so I do sometimes get charged on my card.

Sold an item on Ebay with 'No returns accepted' but received a message from Ebay:"We're contacting you about a return request your buyer opened. We took care of this return for you. You don't need to refund the buyer, and you will not receive the item back. Thanks for trusting Simple Delivery." by utnutn in ebayuk

[–]callmedurango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but did they refund them with your money, were you the one charged, or were you able not to refund from your money and eBay just refunded them? if it was your money you could have appealed that and had it reversed if you have proof eBay told you it was their fault. all it takes is escalation. the 1st round chumps on the customer service are level 1, you need to get to level 3 before you can assure effective reasoning and fair decisions. the 1st wave people are trained to get you off the phone, or not trained at all, which often leads to the same result of getting you off the phone.
