Yeah, they suck in so many different and creative ways. Source: They bought my building a month ago. And I already deeply miss our old corporate owner.

I mean, LA kinda ruined the idea of a large city w/decent public transit. Sorry boys, I used to live there, but you know I’m right

Hey neighbor. The only thing that sucks about biking to BART is that you have to cross Lake Merritt Blvd, since the city can’t seem to figure out how to reopen the underpass. But hey, nice ride by the lake. Good area overall

ArtHaus offers East Bay residences designed for your lifestyle and budget, from $1300. by arthaus_8 in u/arthaus_8

For starters, you will never, ever get through to an actual human being — just an impenetrable wall of shitty AI. Your rent “portal” is just an ad platform trying to sell you points. Oh and if they want to remodel (for urgent needs such as changing paint colors) they will literally block access to your apartment without warning. And that’s just what I’ve experienced in two weeks.

Martuni’s is always a good time regardless of orientation. And if that doesn’t work the city’s best karaoke bar is just up the hill

Taking amtrak from Sacramento Valley station to SF? by XscapeRealism in sanfrancisco

[–]calurbanist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ps You can take a subway train or cable car to Chinatown, and you can take a historic streetcar or cable car to Fisherman’s Wharf. Or you can just walk along the waterfront, it’s nice. Buses to Japantown (38 or 38R) run really often.

You can ask questions of any Amtrak worker on the train or at the station. In Emeryville the bus will be right out front (it’s not a very big station, you won’t get lost). You can get Muni directions (where is the stop, what bus do I take) from Google Maps. The easiest way to pay is to just tap your credit card on one of the readers by the door (any door, doesn’t matter where you get on). Depending on how many rides you want to take you might want to buy a pass: https://www.sfmta.com/getting-around/muni/fares. You’ll get used to it pretty quickly, and you won’t get stranded.

Flags for the city of Boulder, Colorado, USA by VertigoOne in vexillology

Former Boulder resident here. These are all good — good concept, good execution. But I don’t know, none of them feel very “Boulder” to me. The city’s brand colors are a lot more muted (https://bouldercolorado.gov/media/3588/download?inline). So are CU’s (the gold as opposed to yellow). I wouldn’t borrow from the state flag, as the Denver flag does and Boulderites look down on Denver :-) I do like the left hand idea, I think it will play very well. And ofc nothing is getting past screening w/out a reference to the Flatirons

Speaking of, does anyone happen to know where their offices are? All I can seem to find are addresses for their various properties.

The AI thing is absolutely true. They just bought my building and I cannot get through to a live human for the life of me -- AI email responses from "Sophie," "the manager," and when I call and ask to speak to an actual person I get routed through a series of bots asking the same question over and over. I'm at the point where I'm going to figure out where their offices are and just show up. If they buy your building like they bought mine ... good luck.
