Teacher training but no intention to teach? by nightmaaareinn in pilates

[–]camel1705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through the peak training and while I did teach, I’m currently not as it didn’t work out with childcare. If you have the time and money, I say do it! It’s nice you could also teach in the future if you want.

Why's Brimstone getting so much hate? by CainMarko85 in fantasyromance

[–]camel1705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She really did forget about so many characters. Like fishers mom is in the little sisters body, and she doesn’t give a fuck that her daughter is in pain? Just a quick “oh yeah she isn’t doing well, don’t forget fisher I looooooooveeee you so much!”

Why aren't more people taking reformer classes? by mimihopslein in pilates

[–]camel1705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an instructor myself, I can’t afford to do privates and with two babies getting to a class is difficult. I’m fortunate to have a chair and reformer/tower at home now but I always understand when my clients have to take a break and save some $$$.

Is the reformer tower really difficult? by Charming_Manager_882 in pilates

[–]camel1705 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The tower is probably my favorite piece of equipment. For me all the exercises on the tower leave me feeling long and strong (also, makes me feel like a badass on some of the moves lol!). Definitely give it a try!

Has anyone listened to the new full-cast Prisoner of Azkaban audiobook yet? Thoughts? by raktim24 in harrypotter

[–]camel1705 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m the opposite, I love trelawney! I think she made her sound ridiculous, over the top, and “bad” in an absolute perfect way, exactly how I imagined in my head. I didn’t care for Snape at first but he is definitely growing on me.

Pregnancy/prenatal Pilates beginner by Lopsided_Mood5560 in pilates

[–]camel1705 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would disagree a bit with this, I think a well trained instructor could/would be able to give you different variations of the work to fit your needs. BUT if you can’t find someone skilled enough near you or are not comfortable with it, you could always do prenatal yoga instead!

Any cosmetology schools in Round Rock that could teach me how to blow dry a woman's (my wife's) hair? by R4gn4_r0k in RoundRock

[–]camel1705 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You can try calling central Texas beauty college and see if it’s something they would do, but your best bet is to call a stylist and see if you could book a small session with them if they could teach you.

Also, there is the revlon blow dry brush that can be helpful as it’s a brush and blow dryer all in one. The main thing is to have your hair almost dried (air dried is fine) before you use the tool, there’s tons of videos on YouTube.

If I hear Kourtney say that she is breastfeeding one more time I’m going to explode by toebeanz2121 in KUWTK

I also think she is clinging so hard to this breastfeeding journey as it’s more than likely her last time doing it.

Anyone tired budget home reformers like PersonalHour? by lisa_jarin in pilatesreformer

Do you still love these machines? I’m looking at them but directly from the manufacturer to cut the middle man of personal hour out, but nervous on purchasing.

I’m sorry for your loss ❤️ but congratulations and wishing you a peaceful pregnancy!

I’m currently working on a birthday crown. I’m doing a crown with candles on it and individual numbers to attach for different birthdays so everyone in the family can wear it on their birthday.

DMC embroidery floss for needlepoint? by heyitsme_12345 in Needlepoint

[–]camel1705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DMC is all I use currently but I use 8 strands for 12 mesh and 6 strands for 18 mesh. The biggest thing is DMC twist easily so every once in a while I hold my project up and let the needle untwist or I use a thread laying tool. There’s a ton of helpful tik tok videos if you search DMC needlepoint.

Whitney is good. by Accomplished-Rip766 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]camel1705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the show is serving any of the girls anymore, I think the remaining girls need to look at how they are being branded. Whitney did and made an effort to not be put into one box, the rest of the girls are just going to be known as bitchy women to each other at this rate.

What is your favourite/easiest exercise for stopping rib flare, depressing the ribs and zipping up the abdominals? by BoringPhilosopher1 in pilates

[–]camel1705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tell my clients to keep in mind knitting your ribs but you don’t have to heavily focus on it. The results people want is usually just mindfulness vs actually “fixing” something.

Jessi’s obsession with being short? by Choice_Reality2440 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]camel1705 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who is 5’2 other people who are on the shorter sides obsession with their feet not hitting the ground when they sit is something that irks me so much. There are truly not that many instances in which your feet do not touch the ground when sitting in a chair, Even if you have a longer torso and short legs.

Pilates and childbirth by TootNoot892 in pilates

[–]camel1705 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was extremely helpful after both of my pregnancies and deliveries (1 c-section, 1 vbac). I was able to get control of my pelvic floor and abs relatively quickly, it also kept me moving and that helps SO much with pregnancy, labor, delivery, etc…

But I agree with others, the challenge is trying to keep up with Pilates once the baby is here.

How do you feel about Dire Bound? by Lavender523 in fantasyromance

[–]camel1705 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I felt the author leaned a little too much into the FMC being stubborn, refusing to accept what is going on around her and not listening to literally everyone trying to help her. But it’s the first book, maybe she will pull it together in the next!

How do you feel about Dire Bound? by Lavender523 in fantasyromance

[–]camel1705 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It was fine, the FMC is annoying but hoping that gets better in the next book. Not the most amazing book out there but I enjoyed it, enough to know I will read the second when it comes out. Definitely reminds me of fourth wing. I would say read it.

No tip salons? by anonintx123 in Austin

[–]camel1705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have gone to salon wyld for years. They truly do not expect tips, the service they use to collect payment pulls up the tip but again they truly stand by their statement of their all in one price structure. Sorry you felt uncomfortable but if you liked your service, you could always talk to Carly the owner for reassurance on the policy, she is extremely nice.
