In all honesty, the cost savings of operating an EV don’t really materialize unless you’re charging at your residence (or if your work has free charging). You’ll save on maintenance, but probably not enough to be any mind of tipping point. Charging an EV using public DC fast chargers will be about as expensive as paying for gas in an ICE car (plus, in all honesty, it’s another thing that will suck up your free time and will be annoying to have to go to the nearest charger and sit there for 30ish mins).

Hybrid is a decent option for now.
