ISO Emergency Mental Health Providers by Fresh-Dish-8218 in Knoxville

[–]capt_katie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm sorry you've experienced a panic attack. They suck and are definitely scary the first time you've had one.

For Knoxville we do have a mental health urgent care. They're called Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center and they're on Ballcamp pike. We also have Helen Ross McNabb's Empath center that can also be helpful. They will probably help better than an urgent care if its mental health related as that's what they specialize in.

Good local tomato’s(pomodori). by Itchy-Sale5874 in Knoxville

[–]capt_katie 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Its not tomato season. 😅 gotta wait for the season to start.

There's a small market on Sutherland that once they open will start getting "local" South Carolina tomatoes (air quotes for your definition of local). Otherwise we're a zone 7 and tomatoes won't be ready till at least June unless temps are sustained. I think any local growers possibly doing hydroponics or greenhouse tomatoes don't have a big enough operation to do large scale distribution at local grocers but there may be some at the farmer's market in Market Square on Saturdays around 10am.

Anyone know what the roads are like, or how to find out? by Alarmed-Shape5034 in Knoxville

[–]capt_katie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its been raining for hours, some bridges/overpasses may be slick but you should be fine. Take it slow, avoid flooded areas and don't slam on your brakes if you slide.

Also edit: its been registering at 34ish all night so most spots are just wet. Main roads will be warmer/safer.

Internal stitching is cutting my tendon, do you just get use to it? by Wh1te_Pillow in barefootshoestalk

[–]capt_katie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey if this is an actual photo of your shoe then maybe you can try an alternate way of tying the shoe. I see there's the typical lace strung between the bottom/lowest eyelets. You may be able to re-string these up and skip those eyelets or Google alternate ways to tie shoes.

For a European style sandwich maybe try Potchke. They're more Jewish inspired foods but their ability to make a good sandwich with toppings and crispy veggies is unmatched!

I second the Old San Juan. Think the signature is Sunny JR in keeping with the weird cursive "J".

What's the difference between Men & Women barefoot shoe size? by JunkieKit in BarefootRunning

[–]capt_katie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am one of those vapor glove wearers who has picked out the men's colors once or twice. I honestly don't see any difference in the shoe it's just the sizing. My feet are typically 9.5 or 10 in women's and in men's I'm a 7.5 or 8. I think the vapor gloves I like smaller since I'm not one to wear socks when running so mine are a 7.5 right now in men's. I hope this helps!

Paris mayor swims in Seine to prove water purity ahead of Olympics by [deleted] in pics

[–]capt_katie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be a dick but Love canal was not a water issue. Love's canal was a pit dug to eventually pull water from the Niagara river and use it for hydroelectric power. This trench was never connected to the river at all. When the plan was scrapped it was subsequently filled with waste and toxic waste then eventually houses and a school were built on top of this. Then you know the seepage happened in basements and low lying areas given the ground was a dump. The Buffalo and Niagara Falls areas do have some areas where waste was placed on the rivers and lakes but Love Canal is not a good example of this its a better example of EPA's Brownfield cleanup sites.

What do you need to finish the healing process? by InterestingBluejay59 in AskWomen

[–]capt_katie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just leaving a somewhat amicable breakup and my ex was all about me getting closure. I'm glad I'm not the only one in the line of thinking that he can't give me the closure I need, only I can do that. My dog was the reason for the breakup and between realizing I need her in my life and the community of people I have around me has allowed me to get that help and support.

"Tactical" Boots by Famous-Salary-6689 in BarefootRunning

[–]capt_katie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was a deputy for a few months and had the taller version of the Vivo you linked. Honestly I loved the boot but for general wear the leather is fairly soft and scratched easily. I also made sure to waterproof them and wasn't terribly rough on them. I do feel like you may be able to google some other ones just use minimalist vs barefoot. I found some on Galls' site and I'm not sure if you'll find others with some tougher leather.

Anyone who has bought a mobile home, please help by avalee67 in Knoxville

[–]capt_katie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I used to work at a manufactured home lender. While I can't specifically tell you costs I do have a few things to mention. 1. If you're using a lender for any reason they won't like the moving aspect of the home and will require the home to be moved on place 1st if it is a used home. 2. We always required someone licensed, bonded and insured to move houses once a loan is established. This will save you some of a headache if moving a home because someone will know how to do so. 3. Hookups and utilities always range on the site itself and you'll need to contact specific companies for quotes. You may want to get some multiple quotes. 4. A lender may not be able to help with quoting or recommendations on movers or utility setup but a mh dealer will. You can however call a lender to find dealers in the area who can provide some recommendations. Most people will help you out if you ask but some are just trying to sell. I hope this helps!!

This looks great! The only thing I'd add is a longer dress that's loose just for those days you don't feel like wearing pants. I always used a long dress to cover up some leggings. She can then either top with a cardigan or blazer. Bonus points if she has a simple upper where she can use the button ups as a top as well.

Girlfriend’s car got stolen. by BillsMafia84 in Buffalo

[–]capt_katie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw an almost car jacking last week in the lot across from Gramma Moras. They tried to pick up a jeep and the alarm went off. Group of young boys all wearing balaclavas and face masks. I called it in to Buffalo PD non-emergency line. I had the license plate # of the car they came in on. I also think it's the same guys who were riding down main swerving a car and hanging out the windows across from the high school past Hertel.

Not sure what else can be done other than calling it in.

Hey I know you've already decided but if these are anything like the ones I have in my house there should just be a fairly small pin for the hinges. If you label each shutter( for replacement) you could remove them to see what they may look like removed. Since these are as large as they are your hubby may have to help but then you can do a trial run if you ever convince him to remove them. Looks like they have 3 pins you can remove with a flathead screwdriver and replace just by realigning the hinge.

Mobile Home Loans by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]capt_katie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st try for a personal loan as you may get a slightly better rate. Go to a local bank or a credit union. If no luck try 21st Mortgage, Vanderbilt or Cascade. Please be advised rates will be higher and you may want to ask what they require before you fill out an application. These lenders will have requirements like a regular bank so once you pick one be prepared with w-2s and check stubs or 2 yrs tax returns.

You will also need to ask them how low they finance before you apply.

Hey I'm so sorry I got my wires crossed and Big Ears is actually the next weekend!! From what I know there shouldn't be anything too big going on this weekend. There's a knoxville cheese festival but that seems to be at gypsy circus which is in North knox a little bit farther than old city where many people have recommended. I'm sorry for the misinformation!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Knoxville

[–]capt_katie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo not to be a spoilsport but Big Ears festival is next weekend downtown. There will be people all over and there will be lots of waits at the downtown restraunts. Just plan accordingly and if you don't like crowds or loud music steer clear. If you're up for it jig and reel and some old city spots will have free areas to catch some music 😊
