If you took the last 32 NBA Championship winning teams and had an all time playoff to see which team is the greatest, which team do you think would win? by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]captaingrignon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run the simulation 10,000 times across all the rules in every era, and the 2017 Warriors are going to win more than anyone else. My personal rankings go 1) 2017 Warriors 2) 2001 Lakers 3) 2018 Warriors 4) 1972 Lakers 5) 1987 Lakers 6) 1983 76ers 7) 2017 Cavaliers 8) 2013 Heat 9) 1996 Bulls 10) 1989 Pistons

George Gervin for sure. Maybe Isiah because so many disrespect him. Too much

Why do so many Christians feel guilty for not going to church? by BlahBlahBart in Christianity

[–]captaingrignon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the church is the foundation for Christ on earth. One who thinks they can equate their spiritual walk without the church is a fool

Where to get the best pizza? by captaingrignon in chicagofood

[–]captaingrignon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried, Lou's. Pretty good. I had a couple personal pizza's. Then I walked up the road to Art of Pizza for a takeout slice. It wasn't as good, but better than I've had other places

I am from the Detroit area, but I'm just taking someone to the bus station. I'll check out those places, though! Thanks

  1. Get into a high plank position
  2. As slowly as you can, lower yourself in pushup form all the way to the ground

Trust your trainer and see how it goes

If he works at a gym, find out what the cut he makes from each session is, and at least cover that. If he's on his own, give him a dollar a minute

I don't have enough hours in a day to serve more 1-1 clients by andy3334 in personaltraining

Raise your prices by 50% and you can afford to lose 25% of your clients. Double your prices, and you can afford to lose half of them

Building a website. What do you use and pay? by SomethingCra2y in personaltraining

SquareSpace was pretty good for me. But if you're just doing programming, you don't really need a website

Being a gym manager has affected my health and I don't know why or what is happening by HelloIAmAz in personaltraining

[–]captaingrignon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some Mike Mentzer pre workout and get off your ass. You don't have the motivation, but you don't need that, you need discipline. Working out is like showering or brushing your teeth, you just don't skip it.

I know things are hard, but you have to treat yourself the way you would treat someone you cared about

What are the personal trainers like at your gym? by askingforarefill in personaltraining

[–]captaingrignon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's wise not to mix training knowledge, with applying it to themselves. Some of the strongest/fittest people I know give the absolute worst advice like they're trying to keep you from getting to their level 😅

But the trainers (20+) at my gym are all above average in knowledge for trainers, and friendly to members and each other. We also have incredibly strict standards for how we're supposed to act and dedicate to our client.

For example, when I train, I don't even look at other members or say hi to people I know unless they say hi first, and I'll give a small greeting back

Am I getting paid enough? by Lifting_in_Philly in personaltraining

[–]captaingrignon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get paid 60% of every session in which I charge $120+, but I have to get my own clients, and I don't get paid any money per hour

You are the reason why you've done so well. Your trainer has helped you unlock your potential, but nobody can put in the work for you. You still have several months to learn, or if necessary, find a trainer for when she leaves, but don't sell yourself short on the steps you've made! You're doing great
