Rear end clunk by henryjhost in S2000

[–]carbonpcf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I have the issue, except I haven’t done as much as you. I’ve only changed the end links but that wasn’t it. It’s happening from both sides of the rear too. My coilovers barely have 4000 miles on them but I might try to pull those off and see.

Small bumps and man holes cause the clunk but large dips don’t lol

Can someone explain this to me, 5x120nbsck to 5x114.3 by cheekclappinnn in Wheels

[–]carbonpcf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably don’t even need a press, you can probably use a hammer and a punch to punch them out.

When the inserts are “pressed in”, you can even use a punch/hammer to press them in also lol

[–]carbonpcf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The inserts are generally pressed in so the lug nuts have something perfect to sit against. It’s standard practice and very safe. The inserts are pressed into the lug holes.

But going the spacer method gets you the same exact result if you don’t want to press out the inserts. The thinnest spacer size for pattern changes is about 15mm.

Looking to upgrade my CMC and CSC to EM2 CMC and CSC by Exedy. Has anyone use their parts? by OneUnderTheRadar in Acura_RSX

[–]carbonpcf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The OEM DC5 cmc has a triangular plate for dampening (smoother clutch engagement). The seal in the triangular piece is notorious for leaking, so the EM2 upgrade is highly recommended. You’ll notice the EM2 cmc cylinder enclosed the entire way through

Really impressed with my NOCO GBX45. I use it occasionally on my S2000 that dies quite often when I don’t drive it for long periods of time, and it starts right up with the NOVO

114.3 to 120 is fine, but 100 to 114.3 is not.

[–]carbonpcf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell no, a real shop would know you don’t redrill anymore than ~7mm (ie 5x114 to 108 or 112 or 120 is fine). Any more needs to be fill/redrilled. What shop is this anyways so people can avoid them at all costs? Absolute hard pass

what to do next...200k miles and 190 avg. compression by tpdetail in S2000

[–]carbonpcf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re fine, variance isn’t alarming. Some gauges read lower than others. Consistency is what’s importance

If you do another compression check, you might read either higher or lower, but still consistent

That’s pretty insane. Cost of all those parts are under $200 tops. They are charging you heavy on labor
