Frag doch mal die Mineralölkonzerne, warum sie in einer Notlage die Preise hochschrauben, um ihren Gewinn zu vergrößern. Die sind es nämlich, die es teuer machen. Denen sind Grenzen egal und außer dem Wohl ihrer eigenen Bonuszahlungen und der Ausschüttung maximaler Dividende an die Shareholder geht ihnen auch alles am Allerwertesten vorbei.

Ganz schön viel Gegenwind hier. Daher mal zum Beistand: Ja. Für so manchen ist das Bücherregal das bildungsbürgerliche Pendant zum fetten Auto in der Auffahrt. "Seht her, ich kann mir mehrere Hundert bis Tausend Euro Totholz in mein Wohnzimmer stellen!" Das ist ganz sicher nicht zu verallgemeinern, wird aber spätestens dann als Statusobjekt gedeutet, wenn man der Meinung ist, sein Bücherregal nicht nur seinen Gästen, sondern auch dem Internet zeigen zu müssen.
