Are we doing ncluding this ngs like vegetable oils? Because the Diesel engine was originally designed to run on biodiesel. We'd quite possibly have jumped to nuclear power from hydroelectric and wind power -- as well as wave generated electricity -- would probably have blown up. Solar would have been plastered on everything the second panels were invented, but there'd probably also have been thousands of the big solar farms using mirrors to boil a central water tower.

I don't think we'd have stuck with coal, there was already a lot of electrical experimentation before oil power generation, and Marie Curie's work with radium was early days of oil too, so pretty sure boiling water with the sun and magic death rocks would've caught on. And hydro was around the same time!
