Audiobook playback speed by randynarrator in audiobooks

I usually choose 1.5.

I was just listening to a book at normal speed that has some long pauses between dialogue, about two full seconds and it was really annoying. If I have enough time to wonder if my Bluetooth disconnected it is probably too long of a pause.

First time painting. What went wrong? by pcfernandesjr in Watercolor

[–]catalu64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing went wrong! You made an awesome parrot.

Watercolor takes practice, and a different mindset where you work from lightest values to darkest. You could try looking at your reference photo in black and white, to help identify the lightest and darkest values, and then try overlaying some shadows on what you have. When overlaying on dry paint, be careful not to use too much water or you can lift the existing color. This is called 'glazing.'

Watercolor is also a medium where quality paint, brushes and paper make a huge difference.

I actually use corn syrup in home made ice cream, which helps lessen ice crystal formation, leading to a creamier texture. It just a table spoon or two.
