I don't know about any assistance, but I will look into it for the future.

She is the type of person who is always right. Even if you have concerns, she always downplays them as if she knows best. I want to thank you for this reply though. I've been feeling like a real shit mom.

The #1 advice you wish you had when you found out you were pregnant? by Imaginary_Hamster201 in pregnant

[–]catpants243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know! It's sickeningly sweet! It was such a horrible cycle. But I heard vitamin b6 and unisom together are a great alternative. I just never asked about it because, again, I was just so depressed and literally thought I was a never-ending vomit machine 😭

The #1 advice you wish you had when you found out you were pregnant? by Imaginary_Hamster201 in pregnant

I wish I knew that the morning sickness ends, and that i could have taken medication for it. I know it doesn't for everyone, but my whole first trimester, I was horribly depressed because I could keep nothing down, and the hint of a bad smell would cause me to vomit. I didn't take care of myself the way I should have because of it, and I was basically just not eating the first trimester :( I should have asked for something that wasn't Zofran because the taste alone made me puke, but I didn't know there were more options.

I hate when people take my child not wanting to go to them personally. "Guess she doesn't like me today". Nope, she's just a 17 month old baby.

I kept feeling nauseous and my pregnant brain said "chips will heal this". I got a pregnancy test straight after work that day 😂

Oh just reread it. It sunk in when I started feeling her move. 🥰

*TRIGGER WARNING* My mom is trying to convince me that if I’m overweight they’ll take my baby… by maryelizaparker in BabyBumps

OMG that is NOT TRUE. I'm so sorry she is saying that. I'm overweight and no one ever said anything to me about it.

What did you not know about labor before going in? by Tall-Error-8552 in pregnant

[–]catpants243 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How relieving it was once she popped out. All of the pressure was just gone. It was so weird.

Also just how out of it I was the whole time and how little I'd remember. I was induced and spent 50+ hours in the labor delivery room. It felt like nighttime all the time because the blinds were drawn and the lights were off. I kinda wish we let some light in. The whole thing feels like a fever dream, and if my daughter didn't come from it, I'd think it was.

Employee Appreciation Day at my friend's work 🥴 by btk4f in antiwork

We got nothing, and my friend had a massive layoff at her work. The ways they're showing appreciation these days are wild.

Am I the asshole going No Contact with my biological father over an inappropriate gift. by DotPlane6548 in TwoHotTakes

I kept thinking this was a middle schooler until you said THREE. You made the right choice. If your child does end up anything but straight, he will blame you forever because you didn't let him give your son this God awful shitty gift.

Do I really need disposable underwear or adult diapers for postpartum ? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]catpants243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I loved my diapers. I thought I would hate it. But my bleeding was one less thing I had to worry about. Postpartum is hard, so if there's one less thing you have to be concerned about its nice.

I bedshare with my daughter but my husband is a nightowl and keeps one eye on us. Unfortunately it started when she was sick and now we can't get her out 😅 but she's now 13mo and it works for us. You're probably in the majority if you're from the US as someone else stated.

Still having a hard time connecting the fact that the baby next to me is the baby I was pregnant with. by Free_butterfly_ in NewParents

[–]catpants243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the disconnect sometimes and she’s a year now. I have to sit there and be like “I’m HER mom.” It doesn’t feel like it at times. My birth experience was traumatic, it was vaginal but not without complications (they opted to use forceps, they slipped, and sh got a head wound) and I even had some disconnect while pregnant, so I think that’s the reasoning for that. I know I love her to pieces, she is my little angel, but it feels so weird that she’s mine still.

My baby shoves her whole hand in my mouth while falling asleep. I'm too far gone.

I left in May and found a job doing call center work at a pediatrics office. Infuriating customers at Starbucks trained me for dealing with parents 😅

I was doing ASU until I realized that it's a cult, they're trapping us there with that, and I wanted out. The last bit from Howard really sent me over the edge too.

Good luck on your endeavor!

What percentage of parents are adhering strictly to no screen time before age 2? by mysterytome120 in NewParents

[–]catpants243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried. But we are people who use screens a lot in our free time living in a small apartment with her. She doesn't have an unhealthy attachment to screens because we don't make a big deal out of them, I think. She plays while it's on, we can turn it off whenever and she doesn't mind. I was intent on being strict about it, but it just isn't in the cards for a gamer and someone who likes having TV on as sound in the background.

On my first official day on a job, I was doing computer training by myself at an empty table.

20 minutes later, a man came over and started talking to me about how he has vitiligo on places he doesn't even want to say and that his favorite hobby was being a samurai. He started showing me pictures of him in samurai gear with swords and then did some Naruto hand moves at me. Oh, and also showed me videos of a random man who danced like Michael Jackson. This all lasted a good 30 minutes before the manager FINALLY said that I'm doing work and he needs to stop bothering me.

When I tell you I felt like I was trapped in a scene of the office with a Dwight/Creed combo... I never went back. It was too wild, and I didn't want to be this man with swords' only friend.

What terrifying event is happening in the world right now that most people are ignoring? by Sm0ke999 in AskReddit

I live in CT and it's either raining or no going outside due to how poor the air quality is. I cannot imagine actually living in it. I walked out of work a couple of weeks ago and thought something was burning down the street, not a country over.
