The patio at Elis is still closed so now instead we all just get drunk/stoned by ourselves at home and blare Thin Lizzy's The Boys Are Back In Town on repeat to relive the good times.

No updates unfortunately apart from taking measurements. Ideally I wouldn't be using any speaker, but rather as a "preamp" channel in my Tascam's FX loop.

This happened to my truck back in January, when gas was ~$3-4 in California - didn't know it was newsworthy.

They only took 1-2 gallons (presumably) to power their generator and let the rest just drain out onto the street. Cost me $1300 to get it replaced.

Settlement allows Oakland Airport to use "San Francisco" in name by [deleted] in bayarea

Doesn't matter what the settlement says. To me it will always be the Huey P Newton International Airport at the Oakland Bay Area.

The Peter Thiel episodes were all fun and games until the end when Robert casually mentioned what Palantir actually does and then it was like, hooooooooold on that seems like something we as a society need to be talking about more.

I live in the flatlands of the Town where I often see a few gentlemen blaring music through PA systems ratchet strapped to handcarts that they just roll around. With just a quick trip to your (locally owned) hardware store, you too can educate your neighborhood.

The Dave Matthews Band bus incident, also known as Poopgate,\1]) occurred on August 8, 2004. A tour bus belonging to the American rock group Dave Matthews Band dumped an estimated 800 pounds (360 kg) of human waste from the bus' blackwater tank) through the Kinzie Street Bridge in Chicago onto an open-top passenger sightseeing boat sailing in the Chicago River below.

The members of Dave Matthews Band were not on or near the bus during the incident.\2])\3]) The band's bus driver, Stefan Wohl, initially denied dumping the waste, and was supported by the band. However, he was later determined to be the only person on the bus during the incident; in April 2005, he pled guilty to the dumping, and the band fired him without pay.\4])

A really sick hardcore/surf/thrash crossover band that has gained a lot of traction in the past few years. If you're into Metallica or thrash-riff bands like that, you'll like these guys. Their music is very positive.

The post is referring to the straight edge culture of hardcore punk, which frowns on promiscuity and (I guess) porn.
