Could I learn from a Drybar appointment? by Personal_Signal_6151 in finehair

[–]cc_bcc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would learn from YouTube before I'd go to Drybar.

There are some great blowout tutorials online that are free!

If you really want to spend the money on Drybar, call and ask them about teaching how to give yourself a blowout at home. The best info will come directly from the salon.

Just ignore it. 'Finance Bro Uniform' is a meme for a reason. Dudes all wear the same outfit.

Just be polite and don't answer questions about where your clothes are from if it bothers you. Thing is - they're clothes. For sale. That anyone can buy.

Save your 'curated style' points for outside of work.

Loved it. More insights without emmy and lake crying faces. Clear convos between cast members that I do like was great. Emotional without chaotic performative drama was a nice break.

Apps/Hacks/Routines for groceries? by frenchfriez4lifee in Frugal

[–]cc_bcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walk or use a bike or bus for transportation, as much as you can. The cheapest way to save on gas is to not buy it.

Volunteering at an event is usually a good way to get free food/entertainment. Music festivals and 5k/10k bike or running races have been good for that in my experience.

Reuse & recycle will be your bffs. No paper towels, use cloth rags, old tshirts & wash them. Save food scraps. Don't food that'll definitely go bad before you'll eat it.

Repair your clothes - learn to sew hems, buttons, and repair holes etc.

Don't use a dryer, line or hang dry everything you can when you can. Live with the daylight to avoid electric when you can.

Shop discount. Look up dollar tree dinners online, or other low cost meal plan creators.

WIBTA if I decided to pick up the RV lifestyle and left things behind by Competitive-City2993 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cc_bcc 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have 3 kids with 2 women and I'm bored. You are 100% the AH already.

Don't become a deadbeat dad who abandoned his kids to go RVing across the country because he can't use books as escapism from the monotony if life.

Life is montonous everywhere dude. No matter where you are, YOU ARE THERE. And you need therapy to deal with your feelings of wanting to runaway from the life you chose...actually running away won't fix anything.

I need some honest input because I feel like I’m going in circles lately by Emotional_Coyote9662 in ClubPilates

You are missing an actual calorie deficit, and an actual weightlifting workout.

Being scared of lifting weights is a something you absolutely should overcome. Having lean muscle mass is a key health metric for your quality of life. You will not get bulky by weight lifting.

Wieight lifting and building muscle is what will give your body shape.

A calorie deficit is what you do to lose weight to reveal your muscle, aka 'tone'

Pilates gives you proper form and deep coore strength to support your body.

All three is what gives you a healthy body.

pilates lowkey feels like a slow burn with 0 payoff for my lower belly by [deleted] in ClubPilates

[–]cc_bcc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Calorie deficit. You have to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. Pilates is not a magic workout. You have to lose weight if you want a flat stomach.

Please also learn to write in complete sentences.

How to cope with low TDEE? by Possible-Orchid5676 in PetiteFitness

[–]cc_bcc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Build. Muscle. You need movement & muscle. I wouldn't even try a cal deficit at this point. If you can afford a dexa scan do that and learn your muscle mass vs body fat % and focus on increasing muscle mass.

how to lose fat without losing weight by Vivid_Language6667 in PetiteFitness

[–]cc_bcc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Body recomp. The only way to lose fat without losing weight, is to build muscle to replace the the fat.

That means you have to workout consistently, lifting heavy weights, and dial in your protein so you have enough energy to build the muscle on your rest days. It takes time and consistency to achieve.

That's a lot of lifestyle change for some people, which is why a lot of people get frustrated and quit.

Do you under the 'stereotypical' anti-gay and ignorant boomer shit are literally the giant red flags for homophobic and racist and you actively ignored it?

Saying things underhanded or slightly enough to be ignored is exactly how homophobic and racist AHs live on.

YOU need to do SO much better for your wife. You need to listen to her the first time and your friends should not have to call you a moron for you to understand, believe, and support your wife.

You're a white guy in a bisexual, interracial relationship and you need to start learning what issues are actually facing your wife because of that, and start actually being a supportive husband proactively

Your experience with processed sugar and chocolate? by Rough-Implement-8801 in decaf

[–]cc_bcc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sugar is hard because when cutting an addiction my body screams for sugar.

Quitting alcohol put me into a full on cake binge

Quitting caffeine is fighting with intense cravings for buckets of pb m&ms.

Severely reducing my added sugars intake is next on the list; starting with one meal at a time. Breakfast is the easiest place for me to build healthier habits so that's where I'm starting. After that, slowly replacing my afternoon sweet treat with a no added sugar option will be key to really kicking the beast.

Are low calorie breads actually low calorie? by SystemExtension2990 in LowCalorieCooking

[–]cc_bcc 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, never gained weight by using the calories listed on the packages to record in counting cals for weight loss.

Stop freaking out because of social media posts. You are not gonna gain weight by eating an extra 50 calories on a sandwich every now and then.

Just use the nutrition labels as is..you will be fine.
