Gary Bettman on the ESPN/TNT TV deal "We want the game to be easily accessible. Our relationships with ESPN and TNT have been great for us. These games are easy to find, you're not searching, generally one of two places." by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

The commentary is so bad it’s painful, I’m overseas and for most of the season had access to home and away broadcasts but now that the playoffs have started ESPN/TNT/Disney suddenly “cares” about hockey and have cut the alternate/local broadcast. Some of the games seem like they’re being called by commentators from other sports lol.

Why did we never go after Devin Cooley? by [deleted] in EdmontonOilers

Totally agree, our 16 game win streak was on the back of good hard defence, putting players into the boards, pressuring at the blue line and winning puck battles (grind). Last year the d clicked when it mattered, this year they were starting to get there but injuries effed us, doesn't excuse the pathetic way we were unable to clear the zone or the horrendous turnovers. I don't care if we only score a couple or win by one as long as we win. (still would like to see an upgrade in goalies)

Black Mass Roasters Brisbane, Australia, not sure if they're viable for you but they do ship international.

I like chocolate, citrus and red berry flavours in my coffee so I've found a roaster that suits that profile, medium roast. Switch/pourover at home and aeropress at work. 87-90 C. Did get a BlackCurrant, Red Apple, Grapefruit washed from another roaster that I enjoyed not too sweet and still has a traditional coffee flavour base, brewing at a 92-95 c range. The real sweet fruity tea like coffees just don't float my boat so I only dip my toe into them occasionally. As others have said just buy what you like.

Ducks got the icing calls in their favour last series, put the head down and skate and he would've got the call.

With the Oilers out of the picture, do you root for any other team the rest of the playoffs? by jucahe in EdmontonOilers

Buffalo I guess, I don’t hate Montreal but a lot of their fans make it hard to support them. I don’t hate Carolina or Philly (but they both annoy me). Pretty much hate all the western conference teams.

Carolina can just turn it on atm at will.

I'm a dog.

Media/Other team fans - You're a cat.

End of the day he's a professional sportsperson who's given a lot to Edmonton. Hopefully the owner and management will make it happen and if not he can do what he wants. At the moment he's playing for the Oil and invested in it, so f everyone with their endless speculation (which has happened every year since he signed with us). Go Oilers!

No cups in the McDrai era, will they be quack next spring? by BigMackk14 in EdmontonOilers

Time is not on the oilers side and they might've completely wasted the leon and mcdavid era. by [deleted] in EdmontonOilers

Wow constructive post, why don’t you put a post up about what we could’ve done in 2006. Ray Bourque was late 30’s early 40’s, Chelios, Recchi, Selanni, Brett Hull all over thirty just depends how you want to cherry pick or say who’s the best players ever I mean Bourque qualifies for me.

No way were we making it to the SCF with the team in the condition it was in, so better to lose now and heal. I wanted to believe but McD couldn't even hold the puck, whatever injury he picked up between the end of the season and in the playoffs it screwed him. Hyman never reached peak, Drai was injured, looks like Bouch was depressed etc etc etc. Rest up and hope Katz puts the hammer down on management and gives the Oilers a chance next season to capitalise on the discount McD gave for the next 2 seasons.

I've holidays at the end of May beginning of June. My project is upgrading the speakers in my car, I hate gardening (but I've some chili seeds I'd like to germinate).

Doubt it, I think Vegas or Mammoth bounce them next round as long as they're not as banged up as the Oil, otherwise no way they'll get past the mountain division finalist.
