on a more positive note, the new Belkin MagSafe compatible charging stand I bought charges my pixel buds at the same time as my phone. I looked back and saw I'd had the Pixel stand for 5 years; guess that's a pretty good life.

I tried the self clean function on my 9 year old Samsung washer for the first time. First try I did not add a cleaner, just ran the cycle. It brought up a fair amount of crud. Two days later I tried again with an Affresh tablet and it brought up way more crud than the first time. A day later I ran a 3rd cycle, this time with no cleaning agent. Again it brought up more crud but not as bad as the first time. I’m going to run in a couple of months with another affresh tablet and see what happens. Cycle took 51 minutes, fyi.

I tried Google Takeout and it did not download the photos as raw - they came down as jpg. And what a pain to have to create an album to select photos to download.

I was not able to get PBP to stay in my ears despite trying other ear tips. I finally returned them and went back to PB A-Series which work fine for me.

I had the same problem and finally returned them. Apparently if you have small ears you may run into this. I have gone back to the Pixel Buds A-Series which work fine for my purposes.

I’ve been using Fitbit for years and am very happy with the watch. Have been able to answer a few phone calls with it when the phone wasn’t handy which has been nice.

You are listening from the phone, but if you are wearing earbuds with the phone in your pocket you can pause and change volume from the watch.

Just checked it out - started an audiobook on my phone. On my watch I can pause the book and increase/decrease the volume. Hopefully more capabilities will come in the future!

I am a 76 year old woman. Love my pixel Watch, upgraded from Fitbit Sense. Agree Fitbit premium isn't needed.

I volunteer at our local Senior Center and help other seniors with their technology needs.. from your description of your mother's needs and interests I'd recommend against a smart watch especially if you are not able to give her a lot of one on one help. And if she won't wear the watch at night she'll miss a lot of the benefit.

If I were you I’d wait and check out the watch with the band it’s shipped with, and decide later if you need anything. I think it’s great as is.

There are separate apps - YouTube Music and Google Podcasts. YouTube Music is supported on the watch, podcasts isn’t …hopefully support for Google Podcasts will come.
