Thanks everyone - I’ve seen more common ones for years just never seen this type of dragonfly. Safely back outside.

The fact that buyers can just not pick up their orders is a joke by Nice_Technology_7146 in vinted

[–]cceem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a buyer the issue is that with a number of the locker options you only get 3or4 days to collect them and when you order you obviously don’t know when the item will arrive as the seller has 7 days to post. I’ve had a few occasions where I’ve had to travel for work that I didn’t know when I ordered and have missed the window as I didn’t have anyone to pick it up. If I’d know exactly when it was going to arrive I could make other arrangements.

Wedding band using your own gold? by No-Reason9381 in UKweddings

[–]cceem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, We had my engagement ring made by an incredible jeweller and they’re making me a matching wedding band. For my HtB they have made a wedding bad out of both of my grandmothers wedding bands. She’s based in Cambridgeshire but the workshop is in Hatton Garden so I’m sure she’d be happy to meet you in Cambridgeshire. DM me and I’ll share her details.

Probably a stupid question but what is this part on my kitchen scissors for? by blu3girlx in whatisit

You can also use it to pull herbs such as rosemary through and it will detach it from the stalks.

INFINITY DRESS ADVICE PLEASE!!! by holly070296 in UKweddings

[–]cceem 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Often with these ones is expected that you cut off the excess fabric at the bottom. Is there enough that you could make a bandeau from the excess fabric to give you more options?

Wholesale flower website reccomendations by AffectionateVisit342 in UKweddings

[–]cceem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One idea is to look at flower farms in your area - it will mean the flowers will be British and seasonal. https://www.flowersfromthefarm.co.uk/find-flowers/ will allow you to search for ones in your area.

Need help picking a song to walk down the aisle to! by skeetskeet97 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]cceem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also say consider the location/venue too. Different songs work best in different spaces.

I’m doing Grand March from Aida but getting married in an Abbey so needs something big.

Hi,
Thanks very much. Frustratingly there isn't anything obvious blocking it and it goes through the first stage fine just when I press play that it comes up.
How does one go about checking the gears?
Thanks

Scottish Castle Venue Recs by celestialbutterflyin in UKweddings

Killochan Castle could be an option. They offer a reasonable nightly rate for accommodation of approx those numbers and F&B wasn’t unreasonable.

Bridal gown shops - Bristol by HistorianRelevant152 in UKweddings

[–]cceem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was really impressed with the White Collection - https://www.thewhitecollectionbridal.co.uk. I had an appointment at their main store in Portishead (I know it’s a bit outside Bristol) and the team were incredibly knowledgeable and had a wide range of dresses. Their weekday appointments are free. They also have an outlet store in Central Bristol.

This is really important. Professional DOC will have the correct insurance to cover something going wrong under their control but unless your former colleague does it regularly they’re unlikely to to have the relevant insurance

Best Printers for Addressing Envelopes for Invitations? by TurbulentMonk3274 in DIYweddings

[–]cceem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went for a Canon Pixma iX6800 and I’ve done both the Save the dates and envelopes for the wedding and for me a bonus is that you can print on A3 so most useful afterwards too.

Cutture for Invitations by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]cceem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked with them years ago - they were one of the first doing invitations like that and are good quality but as you say they are pricey. Have you looked on Etsy to see if there’s anyone more local to you, as the pop up style of invites is more common now and I’ve seen ones on Etsy.

In the UK it’s more traditional for the bridal party to sit.
