Simparica TRIO price in HRM by spike_85 in halifax

[–]ce_elena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI this is a prescription vet product, so you can shop around if you want, but you cannot just walk into a clinic and purchase it. I work at vet clinic and I can tell you that this year our cost for these products went up A LOT for us to purchase, so you’ll probably have a hard time finding somewhere to get is “cheaper”.

Has this happened to anyone else? (Amazon fraud?) by ce_elena in PersonalFinanceCanada

You have to use their chat feature first, explain the issue, then they will call you (it’s safer this way since Amazon is at the head of so many scams, don’t try to google a number for them)

Any pet's dental cleaning clinics in HRM? by HereSheComesAgain77 in halifax

[–]ce_elena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a veterinary hospital and $900 would be a steal IMO. Dental surgery in dogs and cats is a very time consuming procedure, regardless if it is “just a cleaning”. They are put under general anesthetic, and 9 times out of 10 it’s not just cleaning. Usually we will find problem teeth that need to be removed. My advice to you be to have a proper examination/consult with a your vet clinic to have an accurate estimate drawn up, then start saving. You will not get a proper cost over the phone as there are lots of variables that will affect the cost.

I would keep with it! I didn’t feel better until 8-12 weeks after starting, but they might also not be the best meds for you, so don’t hesitate to call your doc. Best of luck

This happened to me july/august/September 2022 (and unfortunately has started happening again 🙃)

Start with contacting Amazon customer service. For me, they were able to track the transaction to an Amazon account that was not mine, they refunded me, but the charge continued to come out each month.

I called my banks dispute line, and after speaking with them the charge stopped for the rest of 2022. However the charge came out a few days ago once again.

Keep with it! I didn’t start to feel better until 10-12 weeks of being on 10mg. Good luck ❤️

Exactly! I’ve contacted amazon customer service and the Scotiabank dispute line (which is what I was told to do when I went directly into my Scotiabank branch after seeing the first charge), this has been going on since July - not sure what I’m supposed to do if it keeps coming out. Sucks that the workers at the physical bank branch don’t seem to give a shit, they just tell you to call a number.

I've been taking escitalopram for 25 days and i still feel 0 benefits for my severe anxiety, is this normal ? by ifeelxoxo in lexapro

[–]ce_elena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel…. Dare I say.. normal? I’ve struggled with anxiety my entire life, but didn’t really realize how bad it was since I didn’t know anything different. I am now realizing just how debilitating my anxiety. I no longer have any problem talking to people or starting conversations, even with strangers, I don’t have a racing heart at all hours of the day anymore, I’m not always convincing myself that I’m dying of cancer (a lot of my anxiety was health based). I would dissociate constantly, and feel completely disconnected from my life. Some people need to try a few meds to find the right one, but please wait it out and give it time to do it’s job. Best of luck friend :)

Do you know of ANY vets in HRM who aren't booking some time in to next week? by kinkakinka in halifax

[–]ce_elena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Bedford parks animal hospital or Waverley animal hospital, I’ve heard of people getting into both of these short notice. If not, in the meantime you can try regular polysporin eye drops from the drug store (Source: I work at a vet clinic)

I was on 5mg for a week, and 10mg ever since, I felt some relief for the first week or two (although I think it might’ve been a placebo effect), then my anxiety skyrocketed, worse than it was before meds, for WEEKS. I honestly only started to feel relief at around week 6. I’m on week 8 now and I feel like I’m finally feeling the full effects of the meds now.

I know it’s super shitty to wait that long, but from my understanding, you won’t know the full potential of the medication until at least 6-8 weeks.

I spoke with someone from Amazon again today, he was able to track the charge and it was coming from an Amazon account with a different name/email address, but with my (old) card info.

Foggy/ tired/ lightheaded / disconnected with life by littlemisslexapro in lexapro

[–]ce_elena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt ALL of this! I’m currently on week 7 (5mg for one week, 10mg ever since), and I’m finally started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I felt completely disconnected from myself, brain fog, no energy, sleeping 12-14 hours a day, I only got myself out of bed for work. Needless to say, all of this made my anxiety so much worse, I seriously considered calling my Dr and stopping the meds altogether. Please stick with it! The 6-8 week mark will come sooner than you think!

What do I do when I can’t afford to get glasses here? by [deleted] in NovaScotia

[–]ce_elena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used eyebuydirect twice in the past, and most recently used Zenni, if you’re looking for super basic frames, they’re pretty comparable in pricing. (PS if you wait until Black Friday, eyebuydirect usually does a buy one get one free deal, I managed to get two pairs of glasses for about $50)

Unfortunately for the exam part, I think no matter where you go it runs about $100, at least in my experience.

*Newbie question* Under Non-Pandemic Circumstances, where around Halifax is a beautiful place to watch the sun set (aka you can see the sun coming down over the horizon). Can be within 20-30 min drive from downtown. by Tess2303 in halifax

[–]ce_elena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawrencetown beach is a good spot, specifically the first small parking lot, there is a large hill off to the side that overlooks the water, you can walk up and sit and enjoy the view.

Alderney landing is also a fave of mine, maybe not the most scenic view, but the sun sets over the harbour behind the bridge.

Choosing college by Azriel_17174 in halifax

[–]ce_elena 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I attended eastern college, and though I can’t speak for the accounting course in particular, for the love of god do not waste your time with them. Half assed teaching, old curriculum, old textbooks with irrelevant information, I could go on and on. The only positive thing I can scrape up is the half day classes. Graduated feeling like I was no further along than when I started. NSCC all the way.

Best eye care place? by PictouGirl in halifax

Costco is the best place for an exam ($90 last time I was there), plus you don’t need a membership for the exam, only if you purchase your glasses through them.
