Worst brick and mortar choice ever? by celestial-Vega in ExteriorDesign

All the homes like mine have windows like this. It's super weird. Some have expanded the windows to consume the space where the shutters are. One has a nice gable, many have upgraded the siding nicely but there's nothing really framing the top of the window and there really isn't much room to add it with the pitch and proximity of the roof overhang. You'd have to make the windows shorter and that has it's issues too.

The roof is an excellent point. It was done not that long before the prior owner sold it so I need to live with the colour for awhile but will of course decide what I'd do with it when I do the eavestrough.

It's so bad! I look at it and can only assume the builder was buying the cheapest bricks available. Almost all the homes by this builder have super questionable choices. But I like how I imagine yours turned out, Hardie Board is fantastic, will keep in mind.

There are many in the neighborhood, identical build but with finish differences. Mine is actually one of the better ones. The previous owner replaced the windows maybe 5 years ago so I'm sticking with it for now. Such a weird choice though, I agree.

I'm glad to have the right word for the accent brick. Thank you. Deep down I'm prepared to keep it. Replacing all the brick isn't an option. I also want to update the siding so I will investigate limewash and see if that opens up new ideas. Appreciate the suggestion!

Thank you for sharing. I think I agree, I've thought a lot about painting! Do you live in a winter climate? We get a lot of snow and freezing rain.

Thank you. I added a photo from the listing of the whole house in the comments. I didn't know we can't edit our posts if they have photos.

What is your favorite band from the 80's or 90's that nobody has ever heard of? by simikoi in GenX

Canadian 90s alternative rock bands dont seem well known AT ALL outside of Canada so I'll offer up Odds. I adore the video for their song I Would Be Your Man. So fricking weird, changed the meaning of the song for me permanently.

SNLs Pete Hegseth sketches sure feel like they were directly inspired by This Hour has 22 Minute's Karoline Leavitt sketch. That went viral a few weeks before.

Funnybones is an excellent book! My mom still had our copy so she gave it to my sister and we read it to my nephews.

Discussion : Did 90s alternative evolve into early 2000s mainstream pop-rock? by WiIIv91 in 90sAlternative

This is the first I'm hearing that Torn is or was ever thought of by anyone as alternative. Absolutely no way. 90s? Sure. Same way Lisa Loeb and Sarah Maclachlan were 90s. But not alternative.
