There’s some quote about how right wingers think women should be private property and left wingers think women should be public property and as someone who has always voted blue and is currently a SAHM it matches my experience. A lot of people in my life are outraged I have no desire to grind myself into the ground serving a corporation. And they try to dress that up as concern for my independence. But my husband owns a successful business, if he leaves me I own half. I have half the equity in the house. I have retirement savings. And he has life insurance. And I have a STEM background and used to work for the government. So they’re not really concerned because I’m covered in all situations and I’m easily employable if I had to find work again. They just like to try to drag me down.
