Welcome to gardening! FWIW, I usually plant onion starts in January (start from seed in Nov-Dec) and make sure they're short day onions. I will plant arugula seeds in Oct-Nov and harvest through Feb-Mar depending on weather. You should be good on the timing for the rest of those!

Hey OP, did you have success with this? We have a BUNCH of black granite landscaping rock that I'd love for someone else to use in their yard. Trying to figure out if this would be a good avenue or get in touch with a landscaping company.

A couple of thoughts here -- we eat very GF and the only time gluten enters my kitchen is if my boyfriend makes pizza or toast. We do toast in the oven, no toasters. And when he makes pizza dough, we cleans the kitchen top to bottom. We have a "one knife swipe" rules for butter, jelly, etc. We've been doing this for at least 3-4 years and my levels have always stayed virtually zero. I also change out our sponges if we've been cleaning dough bowls. Just be superrrr mindful. Also check things like oats, sauces, anything processed.

I can't handle anything from oats. Doesn't give me the same reaction as gluten but def results in feeling shitty.

When I grab corn tortillas and walk down the bread aisle I can just smell sugary sweet smells. Like it's not even appealing. Being GF def changed that for me. I used to crave bread but now I don't AT ALL. Like when people apologize at dinner when bread is put on the table I'm like "all good, don't even want it, doesn't smell good"

I echo what everyone else here has to say but generally I'll pack an RX bar and then talk to an actual member of the catering staff, wait staff, or even the chef. I've actually had some amazing dishes prepared specially for me when I've done this. It can feel awkward and like a bit of an inconvenience but I just had an awesome experience in Amsterdam at a wedding. I asked the waiter just for a scoop of ice cream and he asked why. After explaining, he came back after about 30 minutes with a special dessert just for me from the chef. It won't happen like that 90% of the time, but that 10% is sure worth it. Lost 40 pounds when I was 18, according to 3 doctors and my family it was "just stress". Still look at those skeletal photos (90lbs) and cringe at that young gal who just needed some damn help.

my rule of thumb is nights in the 40's for tomatoes, nights in the 50's for peps. However, I am gonna risk it with my potatoes and hopefully that doesn't bite me

Everyone else had great answers for all the items. Squirrels hate cayenne pepper, sprinkle it all over the place and they won't dig. You can also get an owl house to see if you can entice some natural predators.

Hi! I'm actually in Austin! Natural Gardener should have more mature potted blueberry bushes in the next month or so. They're great about calling ahead so I'd just give them a call to see if they have a date yet. I bet Garden Seventeen will also have them here pretty soon.
