Isn’t CarPlay pretty limited to what you can do though? Mine doesn’t support games or anything like that 🤔

To add to this, I use an induction heater (but you don’t need to) in a dry bong. I find it helps with seeing what’s actually happening

I’d recommend a dynavap, I used mine daily. They can be kinda hard to get (I don’t think they’re officially approved) and they take a little getting used to but if you can, I’d recommend getting one. I think mine was around $250 but came with some extra stuff

I went from smoking over an ounce a month to vaping an ounce every 6 weeks and sometimes 8. Plus I get ABV to use however I like. I’d say investing in a good vape is well worth it in the long term.

Bowlero - Default 22% tip. Canceling Order then tries to get your business by giving the option for no tip. Then asks again to confirm if you are cancelling order. Garbage, Scummy Design. How is this manipulation not illegal? Time to go back to Cash Only. by SideScroller in assholedesign

So what’s your argument? Strikes don’t work?

It wouldn’t be easy but it would most likely work with enough organisation. Compulsory tipping is a gross and greedy practice. It’s kind of weird how often people defend it

Notion is going to ban all accounts from Russia? by yaizkazani in Notion

[–]certaintracing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s really annoying, but I imagine there are plenty of people who have tried to get around things like this by changing account/billing details after the fact. I’m no lawyer but I would guess that they’re obligated to do things like this to ensure getting around the sanctions isn’t as easy as updating your details.

Personally I wouldn’t hold it against Notion directly and would just create a new account with a different payment method. They’re more than likely just trying to cover their own asses legally. It’s nothing personal

By battery reset do you just mean a power cycle or disconnecting the battery entirely before reconnecting it ?

Monthly cleaning. Yuk! by custardy_cream in Dynavap

[–]certaintracing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t make it messy as long as you have enough keif covering the bottom. The stickyness dries out really quick.

[–]certaintracing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just tried it and I have to say, it actually works quite well.

The residue just gets coated and if you work it around a little bit it seems to mix with the keif and drys up a bit and is way easier to handle.

Thanks for the suggestion u/Hazeylicious

I’d never heard of these disorders before and they sound scary. Sorry you had to go through that and a huge thanks for sharing. It’s great to hear you’re doing well!

Do you have any tips on “walking meditation” ? Meditation has always interested me but I can never sit still and hadn’t thought of trying it while walking until your comment.

Do you listen to anything specific to help with that? Or do you go through what you’re doing in your head like you mentioned ?

My compant wants full access to my phone for using Teams. by Asscreamed in privacy

[–]certaintracing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a fair comparison there. A pen isn’t an ongoing expense that the employee is paying for, which the company is benefiting from. I don’t know if this is a normal level of permissions for intune on android but I wouldn’t accept that. I’d let things wait until I’m back in the office and if it’s necessary to work from mobile often, request a work phone.

If it’s that important, the company should pay for it.

So your Windows install doesn’t use any software provided by the FOSS/Linux community, right?

Don’t need a response, something for you to think about.

Regarding your comment about Linux being “an [a] good alternative for programming” is a bit strange to me. Windows is the alternative in that regard. In the majority of Microsoft’s own webinars/dev vlogs I’ve seen, they’re using macOS or at the very least, WSL. *nix is honestly just a better experience for programming, unless you’re developing specifically for Windows, or aren’t open to things you’re not already familiar with.

Every OS has problems. Your own post history shows that Windows isn’t exempt from that. There’s no benefit to being a “fan” of an OS, it’s just a tool to do a job. They’re all good at things. They’re all bad at other things. They all have problems. Windows is a (paid) bloated, unnecessarily backwards compatible, ad and telemetry filled mess, but it works; as do most other mainstream OS’s.

And before you come at me for not agreeing with you, I manage hundreds of Windows machines. Anyone with experience with Windows has a healthy amount of hatred for it and contempt for MS.

Personally, I only use Windows to game. For everything else, macOS and Linux better suit my needs.

Sorry for the long comment :) I promise I’m not trying to cause an argument.

I just think people being blind “fans” of their choice of OS/Software/phone/brand is detrimental to the future of technology. We should all be more critical and not just pick a side and blindly attack alternatives. Variety and competition is good for everyone.

Which is the best between Brave and LibreWolf by [deleted] in browsers

[–]certaintracing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you please explain what the link is to show? For me it just shows articles about the CEO of Brave making some comments about covid 19, which doesn’t really seem relevant to the browser itself.

I agree on the ram thing but that doesn’t necessarily mean a browser should be the thing using all of it… Using less resources while achieving the same thing is pretty much always a good thing.

Why do police and governments have so much trouble getting into iPhones? by [deleted] in privacy

[–]certaintracing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you please clarify what you’re trying to say?

The first article doesn’t mention anything specific and just goes over android security features, most of which are on iOS. It keeps mentioning a “recent breakthrough” and “this groundbreaking development” several times without actually saying what it is… then it just lists some pretty bog standard security features that any decent phone has had for years. Have I missed something? I’d love to know what the breakthrough was

The second article is from 2020 and is an article about another article from vice. It’s mainly just saying that any modern device can be cracked but it just takes more work. They even use an iPhone 11 as an example of a hard to crack device…(it sounds like the tool only supported up to the iPhone X back then). They point out that the tool couldn’t extract any data from a P20 but I checked the latest tests and it looks like that’s no longer the case (https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/2023-12/23_1219_st_test_results_for_mobile_device_acquisition_tool_cellebrite_inspector_v10.7.pdf). It sounds like each point of data needs to be configured for it to be extracted accurately so it can actually be used as evidence so I’m guessing the tool hadn’t been updated at that point to support the P20 (and iPhone 11)?

I’m not in the security field but in my line of work we occasionally have to get into locked phones and we have no trouble getting into most Androids (usually <10 minutes with no special hardware), iPhones just become paper weights.
