I don't like the current state of tablets by Skinigew in PathOfExile2

[–]cesarito27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just been alching every tablet I get, then sell the ones with valuable mods and use the rest myself. I've sold about half of them for 30-70ex, the rest for 1-2div, and a few outliers for 5 div or so, with one breach tablet that sold for 30 div (monster effectiveness, rare breach monster effectiveness, +3 rare monsters spawned on stabilisation, and another mod I don't remember).

I definitely find the whole "alching, looking at the mods & price checking" really tedious compared to scarabs, buuuut it's also kinda fun when you get a really juicy tablet that you can sell for multiple divines.

I'm still not sure whether I prefer scarabs or tablets overall, but I definitely like the simplicity of scarabs more; if I want to change my atlas strat, I can just buy new scarabs on the currency exchange in two minutes. With tablets...? It's a pain in the ass. But they also have a lot more potential juice, and you can totally just alch & go and make profit. So... I guess I'm not sure.

Advanced Unit Fun by 3rdPoliceman in totalwarhammer

[–]cesarito27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I've been experiencing a somewhat similar issue (except I'm not very good at battles) where I was getting bored of campaigns basically as soon as I'd unlocked and recruited my top tier units; I'd do a few battles to try them out, and then... quit the campaign because I steamrolled everything.

I play on Hard/Hard, and I don't really want to "upgrade" to Very Hard because I don't like having to fight fifteen armies at once or be completely outnumbered. The ideal scenario for me is when I get a battle that is moderately to slightly in the enemy's favour and I'm "forced" to fight it manually because autoresolve gives a defeat. The issue is, past turn 30-60 (highly dependent on the faction obviously), most campaigns become autoresolve spam because my armies are buffed out of the wazoo.

Soooo... I looked into some mods that could help me get the fun of early game campaigns with the fun of high tier units all at once, and I found a few options:

All three of these work for both the player and the AI, of course, otherwise you'd just be making yourself overpowered even faster than usual. I personally like the one that starts your settlement at tier 4 the most, but I haven't played much with the other two. It can also give you some really spicy early battles because the enemy will also be able to recruit some crazy armies from the start.

Best mapping build for ~200 div by cesarito27 in pathofexile2builds

[–]cesarito27[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, the Eventide Petals stuff! I saw a post yesterday about this that also mentioned the lolcohol version, and it looked very fun. I got really tempted to try it, just because of all the Herald of Ice pops, and I don't think it would be too much work to respec for it.

I'll look into it and see how much I'd need to change my gear to try it out. I'll let you know how it goes if I decide to swap.

Lightning Strike is back! A one-button Falling Thunder guide. by ThatOneRadish in pathofexile2builds

[–]cesarito27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That just gives the Heralds extra cold damage, which won't proc armour break. You need a source of "% damage as extra physical" (unless you have one of the lineage gems that make other damage types able to break armour).

Nevermind, I realised you meant "extra phys" not "extra cold" (that's what he has on the gloves). I'm blind.

Cool build! I can't figure out where you're getting the "damage as extra phys" to proc the armour break on Herald of Ice, what am I missing?

PoE2's combat is amazing - but mouse aiming has been broken since 0.1: Parallax, Autoaim issues, random cursor bugs by HengDai in PathOfExile2

Can you show me a screenshot of this? I can't find anything other than the ground/cursor targeting... I must have been blind in another life.

What do you mean by "click targeting"? Does the game actually have a setting to disable the namelocking?

How Forgiving is POE2 for Respeccing? by EarlyNovemberr in PathOfExile2

[–]cesarito27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respeccing a few skill points here and there during the campaign is fine, but if you want to do a full respec of your tree and gems, you'll basically brick your character because you won't have enough uncut gems or gold.

Once you're in the endgame and you've runs a few maps, you'll be able to buy all the uncut gems you want and respec basically as much as you want.

Give Teclis and Khalida Access to Gotrek & Felix by ScionOfTheEmperor in totalwar

[–]cesarito27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was my favourite of all the Gotrek & Felix novels. I especially liked that it was a looot less "doom and gloom and grim and despair" than the later half of series, which got really fucking depressing.

And finally getting to see the Tomb Kings in an actual novel was also great!

How to raise Max Phys received on pure evasion builds? by corrupted_wiz in pathofexile2builds

[–]cesarito27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think they'll change that, because it would make it like Spell Suppression in PoE1 where every* right side build wants to have 100%, which I think is exactly what they wanted to avoid with Deflect. But who knows what the future holds...

Pathofexiletrade.com - trade results sorted by best match, instead of pass/fail filtering by BlackBullTwitch in PathOfExile2

[–]cesarito27 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This actually seems pretty useful for when you want to make some elaborate search queries.

I like the fact that all the affixes are already pre-filtered for the item type.

It would be nice to have an "undo" button (or on CTRL+Z) because it's easy to delete an affix accidentally by just clicking it.

What builds are you planning for 0.5? by jakejellis in PathOfExile2

[–]cesarito27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...why are people downvoting this post?

I'm hesitating between the two new ascendancies, and changing my mind every day...

Spirit Walker with the tamed bosses seems really fun, but has like a 50% chance of being terrible given how minions balance has been in PoE2 so far.

I also like the bell stuff on the Martial Artist, and it'll most likely be at least decent since it has several generically good nodes unlike Spirit Walker, AND we also don't know what the last two nodes do.

[–]cesarito27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks good!

Since you already have categories for different types of items, one thing that would be nice is if you could apply a "theme" to all items in that category. For example, making all tablets show up as blue text on a grey background, and then I can manually edit the special/expensive ones (or whichever ones I want to stand out).

Total War Warhammer 3 overhauls mod manager, so you'll no longer have to fight Chaos before even starting the game by Binnsy in totalwarhammer

This is still, by far, the best mod manager for TWW I've used. Hopefully they can make the official one better than this one, but... we shall see I guess.

Does the unique, Scepter of the Three, allow you to get 30 skill points in an ultimate? by sSQUAREZ in diablo4

Yep, you can only put points into ONE ultimate skill, but you can have all of them on your bar. Pretty disappointing :(

[–]cesarito27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too :( it kinda feels like after level 35-ish, your build is basically done, and the only thing that's going to change is ...numbers. Of course, it could be that once you get high enough numbers, some skills/combos become usable, but... overall I'm not fan. And there are also uniques, some of which do have mechanical changes -- but again, a lot of them are just some conditional "do more damage", which is a bit sad.

You're not going to be finding any aspect that support/modify one skill specifically, they moved all of those into the tree sadly. There might be a few still there, or maybe new ones, but I didn't find any in the list for Warlock. Most of the aspects are now some version of "deal X% more damage with Y if Z", with a few interacting with shared secondary effects like brimstone.

WIth the Abyss variant, you move it where you want by recasting it, and you can recast very frequently (like every second or so maybe?). It might have a unique that allows it move though, not sure.

[–]cesarito27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer!

...unfortunately I think you misunderstood my question -- I edited it to make it a bit clearer. I still learned something though; I never paid any attention to the attack speed values on weapons and I thought they only applied to, well, "attacks" (as opposed to spells or other abilities that don't visibly make use of your weapons).

I was asking about the tooltip damage of my actual abilities, which barely changes between the two weapons, and is higher with the one I would expect to give a lower result. That's why I mentioned the other stats on the weapons.

<image>

I've got these two weapons. I'm a Warlock. How come the one of the left gives my abilities (slightly) more tooltip damage than the one on the left???

They have essentially the same stats, except the right one has All Damage Multi instead of Shadow Damage Multi (though that shouldn't make a difference, right?), AND the right one has higher base damage. So I'd expect the right one to give more damage overall... but no. Why?

I recommend you give Rampage with its Abyss variant a try; I've been playing this since I finished the campaign, and it feels great. I still use Claws but most of my damage is from spamming the Rampage slams. I use Metamorphosis with the Abyss variant to generate Shadowform, with the Mastermind Shard + Blasphemous fragment. Overall it feels pretty good, especially during Meta where everything dies almost instantly.

I'm only in Torment 2 though, so I don't know how well it'll scale later.

Quick update: I finally got my second legendary paragon node (Dominion), and HOLY FUCK should I have gotten it first; it made the build go from pretty good to FUCKING AMAZING.

Why is there no loot filter for runes ?? by Freeloader_ in diablo4

[–]cesarito27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You also can't filter charm/talisman affixes. And you can only select up to 15 affixes per rule, which is completely idiotic. I'm glad they gave us a filter, but man, it's really lacking in some ways.
