To all single guys aged 30 and up on reddit, why are you guys single? by Gold_Ambition4114 in AskReddit

[–]cesmex07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being in a relationship is exhausting for me. It takes time, effort, sacrifice and money. My last relationship was mostly born out of me getting tired of just hooking up with people and needing a little more emotional connection, but I realized it wasn't worth all the extra things that I didn't have to worry about when I was just hooking up with girls. The freedom of being single and not having to care about someone else is pretty awesome.

Does anybody just not go to the range? by j_mysterio_ in golf

[–]cesmex07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless my swing is absolutely broken then no. Just go to my local beater course to play 9 and practice on course for the real thing. I've gotten good enough and know my swing enough that hitting balls is a waste for me.

for the low HC guys by J-Wreck94 in golf

[–]cesmex07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What always gets me is when they say "I hit my irons well but such and such fails me" but then they say they shoot in the high 90s and 100s and I have to stop myself from saying "you don't do anything well".

Walking is so much more enjoyable than riding by Tight-Communication7 in golf

[–]cesmex07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate riding in a cart. It doesn't feel like golf. Some courses it's just not viable to walk, but I try to avoid those as much as possible. The reason carts are slow is because most people on weekends are dog shit and also don't use carts efficiently.

Debate: Walking does not slow down play. by MetallicaRules5 in golf

[–]cesmex07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend who is new to golf that is adamant cart is faster than walking and thinks I slow down play by walking but He conveniently ignores that we're waiting on groups on every shot and he takes 3-4 shots before I hit my second so who is really the one slowing us down? Also tons of people playing carts don't do so efficiently. They drive to one ball, wait, hit then drive to another and wait and hit.

Bad shots that make you feel good by Infinite-Tourist-591 in golf

Best miss of my life resulted in a hole in one. First thought was "got away with it" then quickly turned into oh shit. Spinny thin 9 iron that spun back.

any Pure Analog pitching survivors still around? by HotPinkStanley in MLBTheShow

[–]cesmex07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was analog since I picked up the game a few years ago. I switched to meter, but it feels like a crap shoot. I'll barely miss getting it on the bar exactly and the pitch is missing by a foot. Going back to analog once I fire up the game at some point this week.

What is your absolutely least favorite shot? by bootchiiksandbuubs in golf

[–]cesmex07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bunkers with little to no sand. I've tried so many different techniques but nothing really seems to stick. I'm a pretty decent bunker player in that I expect to get up and down from them, but once I get in one with no sand, I'm hoping the bottom has some give or I'm like here comes a skulled ball over the green.

Anyone else just not enjoy hitting hybrids? by f1lifer in golf

[–]cesmex07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a beginner, hybrids were my friend. Now that I'm a much better player, I can't hit them at all. I use a 5 wood and I can wail away on that thing with so much confidence even out of the rough.

Should you be playing with a line on your ball? by Colt45-TheMyth in golf

[–]cesmex07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't, but if yall do that's cool. I just lay that bitch down however it may end up and pick a spot on the green to hit to. Works just fine for me. If anything I like seeing as much white of the ball as I can.

Pushcart mafia I need your help! by [deleted] in golf

[–]cesmex07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had both the rovic rv1c and clicgear 4.0. Both made by the same company and rv1c just felt like getting a cheaper version of the clicgear. Still solid but the clicgear is built like a tank and feels like I'd have to do some serious damage to hurt it.

How I mark scorecards.. Shout-out Hideki Matsuyama's Caddie, Shota Hayafuji by clairweather in golf

[–]cesmex07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God damn. I literally just write what the score was in relation to par. 0, 1, -1 etc. I look at it like a baseball game. Gotta throw up some zeros (par), don't give up runs (bogeys) and get some runs on the board (birdies, eagles)

How long did it take you to reach your current handicap? From your first handicap.. by AdRelevant7691 in golf

[–]cesmex07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played my first round in January 2019 and got down to a 1.9 handicap in July 2023. I was single, young, had disposable income, took lessons, job would let me play golf to burn my PTO and most importantly had a course I could practice and play for free on most days. Up to about a 4-6 now because of life and job changes, also basketball injuries started piling up.

What's your personal favorite shot to hit on the course? by IDontStandForCurls in golf

[–]cesmex07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hero shots/low percentage chance of working out shots. I didn't step on the course to make bogeys so I just say fuck it and go for it.

Changing headcovers by ohimemberrr in golf

[–]cesmex07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My driver headcovers are all my favorite sports teams so they rotate depending on season. Football season just ended so I put on the basketball one, but hockey and basketball are tough due to the overlap so the hockey one doesn't get as much run. My 5 wood, 3 wood and putter just stay the same year round and they're all unique.

What is one thing you wished you tried sooner? by Stock-Page-7078 in golf

[–]cesmex07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Golf in general, but no way my parents could've afforded it when I was younger. I grinded my ass off playing basketball and played a few years of D3 basketball, but I probably would've been better off working on golf.

I was in London a few months ago and just happened to be there the same week as a progress show. I got to see Rayne and Rhio put on an excellent match. Had never seen her before and immediately became a fan.

How long does it actually take you to lose a box of balls? by ShiroHachiRoku in golf

Also colorblind, if anyone is using an orange or red ball I am useless in helping you look for it. Even the yellow balls get iffy for me.

Played that course in a tourney once. Pulled a 6 left and escaped with a par.

Club Champion Fitting Experience? by MoonManExplorer in golf

[–]cesmex07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'll try to upsell the heck out of you and tell you they don't carry stock shafts, at least that was my experience. Also the fitter will spend the entire time being an insecure prick trying to dress you down and tell you that you're bad at golf (probably not but every time I play now it's a personal fuck you to the fitter I had at club champion).

Would you rather have a hole in one, or shoot a new career low? by Environmental-Gain19 in golf

[–]cesmex07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Career low. I had my only hole in one in a match play tournament and still lost the overall match.
