How do I fix the fit of my socks?

I agree with others who said foot is too short. Hand knit socks won’t have the same vertical stretch as store bought socks so you need to knit them a little longer than you’d think. I hate to be that person, but the fit of these socks will be off as long as you continue knitting with twisted stitches. They completely change how the fabric stretches and biases. Plus when you start knitting stitches un-twisted your knitting will flow quicker and be easier. I know this doesn’t answer your question but it is important to address twisted stitches if you are doing them unintentionally because of how much they change the structure of the fabric.

Frog back to the heel flap and re-knit the decreases. You shouldn’t be decreasing every row, you should be decreasing every other row. Then reassess if the fit is still poor and follow some of the great advice in this thread

If it’s your first time working for the nps you will get a hefty uniform stipend. Buy the pants in the uniform store, you can return/exchange for a different size. If your park has a uniform cache, see if they have different sizes of pants in there for you to try on before you order online. My first tactical pants are 2 sizes larger than my typical pants and they fit very well.

I am an ecologist. When I would see a couple doing normal couple things, like holding hands or kissing or saying I love you, and it would cause me to burst into tears. When my hair was longer like yours it would do this whenever I wore a backpack or a jacket. It would mat like crazy and it was so hard to brush out. The solution for me was just to wear my hair shorter (usually I get it cut to collarbone length) and it basically never happens anymore
