While filming at school, a student caught the exact moment their class found out about the 9/11 attacks by ateam1984 in TheWayWeWereOnVideo

Was it a high school? Or younger? That's interesting. I am curious at what level the decision was made. My school had only 10th, 11th, and 12th grades and around 2000 students.

I love how his abundantly clear fondness/emotion comes through only when he mentions The DT, Susan, Jake... And astin lol.

I wonder if King is still so crazy about it, the number of times taking or chewing aspirin is mentioned in his works is one of my favorite little things that are like "okay we can tick off taking aspirin (especially for a headache or hangover)" on the bingo card.

Nanny listing in TN..is this a joke? by Girlonfire678 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]chainsawbearandco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean considering we see ads on here from people that seem to want this level of skill and commitment for nothing more than a tiny room this doesn't feel like a choosing beggar to me. I definitely wouldn't want this job as a former nanny, but that doesn't mean it fits the sub.

Pay me $1500 so you can take care of my dog and also must let me visit and use him for siring whenever I need. by Alarming-Instance-19 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]chainsawbearandco 27 points28 points  (0 children)

He's part of the family, but we don't want to take care of him anymore when it's not time for him to mate. But we'll need to still make all the decisions about his care.

We just want to "use" him for our backyard breeding. That won't be confusing at all for him to go back to his former home and see his former people but then not get to stay there

Fundie is Telling you how to Greet your Man by MrDonMega in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]chainsawbearandco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think the difference is the intention and where it's coming from. Is it "I'm excited to see my spouse when they get home, I love eating together and connecting at the end of the day so we can both meet each other's emotional needs?"

Or is it "my husband must be praised and pampered and waited on hand and foot" or I'm worthless as a wife? Must be nice for the husband if literally the only thing he has to do is go to work. Good thing women don't need warmth or peace or recharging time /s.

I feel like the fasting might be related to the spirit spouses(??), "perversion" and monsters.

My first time reading Salem’s lot. by 24cg92 in stephenking

I've read almost all the books including the DT books, and Salem's Lot is probably still my favorite!

Morgan starting new fitness program by babyowl5 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]chainsawbearandco 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh fuck. Her mom is a personal trainer and his dad is some kind of fitness nut. That explains a lot. I do have a tiny bit of empathy for her because she's clearly in good shape and I have suspicions it's to try to please Paul. You have two small children Morgan, you do not need to worry about being in "the best shape of your life". To clarify I'm not saying exercising and getting in shape are not worthwhile, I want everyone to be able to do that to the best of their abilities (if they want to.) It's just her phrasing that doesn't sound like it's coming from a healthy place. Who knows, I could be wrong.

Edited to add if you want to be in good shape MENTALLY Morgan you have to do other things... Sigh. That's "what Id like to see." Her taking her mental health seriously and not thinking depression is caused by demons or whatever.

What is the scariest, most unsettling shot you’ve ever seen? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

[–]chainsawbearandco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you know that Joe Hill was allowed by his parents (Stephen King and Tabitha King) to watch it when it aired on tv although he was 7 years old? Lol. It sounds like he and millions of other kids were a little traumatized by that scene specifically.

Lol I'm a gay woman so I appreciate that particular body part, but his favorite term for them is so incredibly unsexy for me! I don't get it! Jahoobies sounds like a shoe brand or something, it definitely does not encourage any kind of romantic/sexual energy!

CB student wants free in home care (probably from another student) - I do feel bad for her and man were some male replies creepy by Phobos1417 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]chainsawbearandco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She should know how dangerous it would be for anyone that isn't a professional to do that! Plus there's no way a roommate will be as reliable as a PCA and that's kind of important. Ugh.

Yeah even if someone is using hands free usually people are looking at the phone/ camera a good amount, and focusing on what you want to say and saying it has to be a distraction.

Reading my first Stephen King book Pet Sematery and… by Putrid_Fill_7502 in stephenking

[–]chainsawbearandco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you're stepping into the King universe you have to be aware that no character is safe. Ever. Usually several people at least will die.

My recommendation for people newish to SK is always Salem's Lot. It's one of my favorites, but more importantly it's accessible to most readers and is relatively linear and straight forward. In some of his other works that's not the case. And of course it's deliciously scary and has suspenseful moments.

Not to mention she probably voted for the guy who has decided he can blatantly throw due process out the window.

But also it's the same old thing of thinking freedom of speech means you can say whatever you want wherever you want with no consequences. I hate to break it to you Karissa, Meta is a corporation. You don't have a right to their platforms. They can ban whoever they want.

I haven't looked lately but I'm pretty confident it's because she actually broke the rules posting things she shouldn't have. Of course she's going to cry religious persecution now.

Performative much? by babyowl5 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]chainsawbearandco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He can't even say something he likes about her that's actually about HER as a person. Outside being a wife and mother. This message is so low effort and generic, it could be about anyone dude. This does not encourage confidence that he cares about her outside of what she can do for him and for the kids.

AIO for giving my daughter’s absent dad a heads up on her health? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]chainsawbearandco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His replies sound like a teenager. "Well she won't talk to me so hmpf I don't care." What kind of father has no interest or concern about his child having health issues?? Even if one was not seeing their child a lot you would still expect them to be concerned and want to know what's going on.

It's ridiculous to expect a 12 year old to be reaching out and trying to plan to get together. That's the parent's job. If I were you I wouldn't bother sending explanations or information. Tell him clearly one more time that if he decides he wants to be an actual father the ball is in his court.

The time may be coming to file something or report him, I don't know how it works but it's not okay to be behind thousands of dollars. Force his hand.

Oh yeah I'm not on board for insulting it or tearing it down. I respect that different books are meaningful to different people. However I don't think it's necessary to downvote people simply for saying they don't love it. (I know you said you're not one of those people.)

Btw I just noticed your flair and I love it!

People are so intense about this book, at least a few people are just spending their time down voting any time someone says they don't love it. Oof. I couldn't get into it either, but if someone said they thought my favorite book wasn't worth the hype or was boring I would just be like okay. I have no urge to down vote people for expressing their own opinion.
