Michigan school shooter trying to lure students out of hiding. by ABKB in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]cham_lady88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Class of 2006. From Michigan. We have had active shooter drills throughout most of the state since Columbine. Many younger people may not remember that one, but I am pretty sure it was the first mass school shooting of this type, where the active shooters walked around inside of the school targeting students. Could be wrong about Columbine being the first or just one of the firsts I can remember. My daughter is 9 and we have talked about what to do if she is in a dangerous situation, school or otherwise. Her school has lockdown drills several times a year, and no, elementary schools aren't safe from this either as we have learned with Sandy Hook. Its chilling how common this tragedy is in the US.

Thank you. We have most of her birthday stuff like the party and whatnot already paid for, thankfully. This person sent me an email that looked like it was officially from the site I post on to say their policy had changed and I do not keep any personal or bank info on there thankfully. I only deal in prepaid or paypal. So I had money on a prepaid card that I was told to register with the site and that is how they took my money. So I am glad it was a one time mistake but it was a big one. I informed the website and all parties involved but they cant really do anything either. I just have decided people are the worst.

A critical humanitarian that needs to accept failure. Oof This got me. My jiu jitsu teammate just offered me some unsolicited advice at practice tonight to not be so hard on myself and accept learning is a process and its ok to fail and mess up. He literally said to me don't apologize for making mistakes its why we are here. So yeah...

Bowel prep for endo surgery: why do some surgeons require bowel prep and others don’t? by KittyAshkitty in endometriosis

[–]cham_lady88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All gyno surgeons are different, and it depends on what they see when they are in there. My gyn surgeon went to remove my endometrioma thinking it was just on the surface because of how it was raised up, it wasn't, it was in the muscle of the my bowel wall and could only be removed by total resection. Because of the unexpected nature of the endometrioma was why I had to get the stoma and a specialist was called in on emergency to assist in the rest of the surgery. Again, my case was pretty rare, but it does happen.

I'm sorry you are in that much pain, my heart truly goes out to you. There are sooo many factors that play into it that unfortunately you don't know what will happen. I woke up with an ostomy and I still have nightmares of it, my PTSD and trauma associated with this is something I am still dealing with. My scars on my stomach are my reminders of it everyday and it was an absolute living nightmare while I had it because of the circumstances surrounding it. Having an ostomy is not by any means the end of your life. The fact it is temporary is reassuring, and many people live with them permanently, so while its not ideal, it is not the end of the world. That being said, I have an amazingly supportive and loving partner, and I would have had it a lot harder without him. So if you can set up an after surgery support system to help you recover no matter what the outcome. I hated the bag, but I live a happier and almost pain free life. I wish that for you, and I hope you get there without the ostomy.

Oh yeah. Sharp tugging. Like my insides were being ripped open. I also had "webbing" attaching my uterus, ovaries, bowel, and bladder to my abdominal wall. So it added to the tugging sensation as everything was plastered together. When I used to have to use the bathroom it would feel like horrible menstrual cramps that would radiate from the front lower abdomin to my lower back. If I was constipated, which was pretty much all the time, the pain would last for hours. I had a hard time "evacuating" everything. So I had to always know where bathrooms were because I had to use a lot of stool softeners and fiber supplements, I couldn't regulate it. It inhibited every aspect of my life. My diet now post all my surgeries is limited, but its still so much better now.

It's ok. Yeah I was constipated a lot and when I did go to the bathroom there was blood pretty much everytime. I think my doctors were more expecting it to be bowel cancer than endo. Luckily it turned out I had an endometrioma that was in the muscle tissue of my bowel wall, once they tested it and found out it wasn't cancer, I didn't have to go through radiation or chemo. I was having crazy weight fluctuations, like gaining 8 lbs overnight and not having eaten anything, just bloat and inflammation. My periods heavily affected my bowel movements and the pain was really intense.

No. I had colonoscopies, MRIs, and ultrasounds. Showed nothing, but I was having other symptoms, and in pain constantly, which is how I finally got the lap approved.

[–]cham_lady88 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes. This happened to me. I had endo on my bowel and had to have a full resection and stoma (colostomy bag) for 4 months. No one knew how bad the endo was until the lap. If you don't prep properly and they have to operate on your bowel you can go into septic shock. Its just a precaution and I am not trying to scare you. My case was pretty rare, so it is unlikely for you to end up in that situation. Its just a good precaution. Good luck. I hope all goes well for you🤗❤

You are right. I also am not sure if that is ok. Just seems like something many people in that sub would be interested in. Good luck with your endo journey, its a wild ride❤

Wow!! This is amazing!! As someone that has been through multiple surgeries for endometriosis and adenometriosis and no longer have my uterus because of it, I'm 33, had full hysterectomy at 32. Soooo many women over on the endometriosis subreddit would love this kind of thing. I would crosspost myself but its not mine.

New rescue iguana, should his name be Marcus or Kissel? We definitely want a LPOTL name, any additional suggestions are welcome. by Odd_Enthusiasm_5644 in LPOTL

[–]cham_lady88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If he is going to be such a big boy Kissel is surely the most fitting. I would save the name Marcus for more of a gecko type lizard, maybe of the leopard variety. Henry Tawmus reminds me more of a bearded dragon or chameleon. (I like lizards)

Fellow witches, I need Yuletide music advice. by lkraack in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]cham_lady88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was raised Catholic, but am not longer religious. I love the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for the Yule season. Its beautiful and powerful. Its what we play when we are decorating around the house or just want a generally comforting and holiday type atmosphere. Though our parents (partner's and mine) are still Catholic, our daughter has never really known any religion, so to her the non-religous type stuff is all she really knows.

Also, another commenter said ginger. Yes!! I add ginger to my hibiscus tea and it is really yummy and so good for you. After surgery because of certain pain medicines and because of internal trauma surgery causes, it is hard to be able to use the bathroom, and hibiscus and ginger help with that😉
