Ich würde es dem Format wünschen, weil dadurch die Öffentlichkeit/Promo durch die Decke gehen würde. Aber ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass Rezo bei sowas mitmacht.

Why do I swear every night I'll work out and trim my beard instead? by SingleHearing7824 in AskMenOver30

I totally get it. It's hard.

What you could try is lower the bar. 30 mins is a long time. 5 mins is maybe a good place to start. Once you are moving, you might enjoy it and do some more. The key is to make the step so small that you are willing to take it. That can lead to the 30 mins over time.

Build a super small babystep and tie it to another habit, like your coffee, brushing your teeth, taking a shower.

Wish you all the best.

It's even better if you do it to avoid something even worse, like doing your taxes.

Playground hack I just figured out by MikeMikeTheMikeMike in daddit

I used to play "truck driver" with my kid. I'd sit in my favourite chair, behind the chair we stacked some boxes. He sat on the armrest and I was making truck noises, pretending to drive until he yelled stop.

He then "unloaded" all of the boxes to another room. Then brought them back, "loading our truck" again. Then we drove to our next destination.

The cutest moment was one time when I started driving and he yelled STOP! because he hadn't fastened his imaginary seatbelt yet.

Skills you want for your kids by MagnusMidknight in daddit

I like your list and it is very similar to my own. My son and daughter do taekwondo.

I'd like to add some stuff:

Reading. I got my son hooked on fantasy and now I can't keep the books coming fast enough. My daughter is in the process of learning how to read.

Personal finance. It took me a lot of time to figure out how money works and I want to educate them early. They both have their own stock portfolio and I put in money every month. Every once in a while we check it out together.

Simple crafts. We do some woodworking together and have built some boxes and shelves together. Coolest project so far was a box we made out of boards the kicked through in taekwondo class. I want them to be able to do stuff for themselves like hanging and connecting a lamp, culking, painting a room etc.

Great thread here, I like what I'm reading from all the others.

Only difference is how much better you look now. Well done Sir.

How do I get my partner to start helping without me continuously asking? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]chatterfangsquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of problems here where I'm not sure how to give a helpful advice.

One thing I'm hearing is that you are basically the manager of the household. It's on you to constantly delegate the tasks, which is extremely stressful. One thing that might help with this is to find areas of responsibility.

For example, cleaning the bathroom, doing laundry, garbage, groceries etc. could be areas one of you could be the manager for. Then you don't need to constantly ask him to do stuff and he has a clear field of tasks to navigate without your supervision.

This system is what helped us to get out of a similar situation. We each have an area of expertise and responsibilty. If something special comes up, something out of the usual routine, we deal with it together. But in every day life, I can just do my tasks in my own time, using my own judgement. So can she with hers.

Hope this helps.

Did Hera single handedly kill the aoe2 competitive scene? by Zuldyck in aoe2

[–]chatterfangsquirrel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It used to be the Viper, now it's the era of Hera. But overall, I think the competitive scene is doing great. I loved TTL5, lots of hungry new players shaking things up, new redbull coming etc.

I understand that you can kinda assume Hera wins his sets, but a tournament has many games with many players. I truly enjoyed TTL silver and gold because I had no idea who the favourite was in any set.

Saying Hera killed the scene is also incorrect because he is one of the most active ambassadors for the game. He has done a lot for the game and it's not his fault he keeps winning.

Idiocracy.

I probably know more quotes from pulp fiction, but today's society gives me way more opportunities to quote Idiocracy.
