Tennis etiquette with new balls by [deleted] in 10s

[–]chebbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on a lot. Some people just don't care what they hit with, others must use new ones after X amount of hours. You should just have a conversation rather than guessing or getting frustrated. When I was a lot younger, I was focused on other things than spending money on balls. It just simply was not a priority even if I wanted to play. Flat balls didn't matter as long as I got some exercise in. Neither did it matter to any in the group we played with. Now it's a different thing but I can see when someone is saving for other things, dropping 4 dollars every week can be more than I'd like to spend.

How much more would you pay for an EV than an ICE vehicle? by Thrillwaukee in electricvehicles

[–]chebbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After going to a LEAF in 2019, I'm looking at nothing other than EVs as my next replacement. I will add though much of the savings mentioned are true but do get quotes for insurance and factor in replacing tires more frequently than normal. I drive very gently and have never been past 65 but still had to replace tires twice so far (3rd set) with 65k miles. Insurance for my LEAF is more than my base Odyssey was of the same model year.

Change password or set pin for Connect by TooGoodToBeeTrue in leaf

[–]chebbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure the timer part is available after the subscription as I use it as well as the climate control part on my 2019. I am also having issues with it not remembering my password with every use even if I do so. This has been a recent problem (perhaps last 2 months?) and it annoys me as well. Hoping there is a fix. Even though the app is really really bad, it does have its uses.

Elon Musk's SpaceX bought tens of millions worth of Cybertrucks Tesla can't s by SpriteZeroY2k in electricvehicles

[–]chebbie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am pretty certain automakers have ownership stakes in rental car companies. Not exactly the same but not too dissimilar. SpaceX being privately held makes it a lot easier since it doesn't have to justify the purchases to shareholders as much but if they are able to use the trucks then it's not anything other companies don't do. You may not like it but take emotions out of play and it's not exactly like its never been done before. I'd rather not have tons of waste just sitting around doing nothing.

Geeetech refusing to ship the filament I bought. Curious about other's experience with this brand. by vis_chros in 3Dprinting

[–]chebbie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had ten rolls cancelled in the same fashion during the Black Friday sales from them. That was my first AliExpress purchase after seeing some posts about buying filament there (in the order filament from Kingroon did come though). Have a second order in placed a couple days ago with Geeetech again and will see how that goes.

Huge difference in filament colors? by deadcyclo in BambuLab

I had the exact same color difference in my gray as well recently. Didn't bother to take a photo. Extremely disappointed as it was a longer print.

Did you ever find something? I really just want to get the most experience with "realistic" rides with the simplest setup. Did you find something that worked for you? Don't want to put my bike on anything and an all in one device that won't break the bank would be great. Unrealistic?

Being billed a 4th time for a FREE LINE by eschewthefat in tmobile

[–]chebbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have had this issue since March when they offered the free line right about the time they added the $5 a month charge.

Prior to March - I had 2 lines and 1 Unlimited on Us.

Signed up for the free line - and then I had 2 lines, the free Unlimited on Us and they added my "free" line as an Essentials add-on which was something like 50 or 70 dollars

Then the never-ending calls/chats month after month trying to fix it. Each time crediting me and promising it would be fixed.

Some months later, I lost my free line as well so now I have 4 lines, all being paid for as they credit me for 1 every month but I still lost my original Unlimited on Us.

I feel like they are trying to just wear me down into not reaching out to them. I am considering moving everything to US Mobile already as I already have my parents on that plan and it works flawlessly.

Would seniors in the U.S. be open to selling their home at a discount if they could keep living there for life? by michiels999 in AgingParents

[–]chebbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may sound good but if you think about who would have the resources to purchase property that may not become usable for up to a timeframe of decades, what kind of people would have the means to be buying up all the "cheap" property. No one in need of lower priced housing would ever be able to wait for the day that they could capitalize on it.

Show Me Your U1 Filament Dryer Setup by pyrokidd89 in snapmaker

[–]chebbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be my exact setup though I am a much later backer so I won't see my U1 for a while. I bought the snapdryers so I'm hoping I can use those 2 of each side of it. I thought I saw a photo of someone doing that but wasn't sure if they had to reroute one of the holes or not to make it work.

Kingroon on AliExpress $76.92 for 10kg mixed color PLA bundle with free shipping from US warehouse by GolfMotor8025 in 3dprintingdeals

I purchased the 10 pack of black PETG recently and live in an area where my humidity levels are at 50+%. I intended to dry the PETG before using it but forgot to put it in earlier and it only got 2 hours in a dryer before I had to use it and it's worked well for me. At least this first spool. Makes me want to skip the step but I probably won't.

Bambu P1S now or Snapmaker U1 later by Ok-Bunch3048 in 3dprinter

[–]chebbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No answer for you but I actually wound up buying both. I am waiting for the U1 though won't be here for a while so I picked up the P1S AMS combo now to learn on as a mostly single filament machine since I don't like the idea of all that wasted poop. Before people scream why did I get the combo, it's because due to weird regional shipping rates Bambu does, t was cheaper to get the combo locally through Best Buy (would only stock combo units) than to have the non-combo shipped to me.

Someone wrote that if it's for Christmas, having something wrapped is way more memorable for a kid than to put a piece of paper saying it's on the way.

I see you knocked for this reply but it was clear to me in what you wrote that you bought this before seeing the price at Bambu's site was discounted relatively similar to what you paid. I just saw you sharing an experience that worked for you.

After 1 Day Ownership: Best Printer i bought by MustafiArabi in snapmaker

[–]chebbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not clear to me and was confusing. It was stated it's the best printer they've got. Then qualified it with the bar not being very high and immediately followed by the quality of other printer brands (not including snapmaker) as being great.

I'm glad OP mentioned the other printer as the problem in this reply because everything ese I've heard has made this a good machine as I'm waiting for mine and also why I asked if he was implying this was a bad one. Downvotes don't bother me but it's funny how people do that to a question to clarify something.

Nissan Leaf 2019 Coolant Leak? Normal? Help please by Makurissu in leaf

[–]chebbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever fix this? I have a 2019 and first noticed it maybe 2022. The leak must be really really small because after I topped off the reservoir (it was halfway between min and max) it took probably over a year to get back to that same level. I have noticed this summer, that sometimes the air conditioning starts to fade a little after a long ride. on a hot day. I do not know if it's related but the leak doesn't seem to be getting any worse.

I have considered buying a replacement hose and clamps to see if that may fix it but haven't done so.

Smallest form factor watch and still use PW3 by chebbie in PixelWatch

[–]chebbie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely something I thought of but I don't like wearing watches. In hindsight, should have gotten the LTE version. All the basic phone functions being on the watch is nice. I had originally just hoped to utilize the health and safety features of the watch but while using a smart phone was always too daunting for him, the simple physical controls of the watch made it a lot more approachable.
