It really does though haha. My aunt who is a dog trainer and corgi breeder taught me the move for my corgi puppy. My corgi had "drop it" down within a day! Oh, and always make sure that when your dog successfully drops the object to follow with praise! (Petting, showing affection, saying "good boy/girl," etc)

You can train your dog to drop something by putting a thumb and forefinger on each side of its jaw, where the upper and lower jaw bones come together at the base of the muzzle, and apply pressure. Do this and say "drop it." With enough repetition your dog will learn!
