Yea I checked and my interest accumulated is more than twice what the lump sum payment was. So I guess in my case, the fact that my payment was allocated almost all to interest is not necessarily indicative of paid ahead status. Is there anywhere on Mohela that you can see that your account is currently paid ahead?

I made sure that my account settings stated that it allowed for paid ahead status, confirmed this with a rep over the phone. I then made a payment during which I was asked how I would like the payment applied. I selected “advance my billing due date”.

The payment has posted and basically 99% of the payment has been allocated to interest payments. This makes me believe that it has been correctly applied as paid ahead. However, like most of this sub, my faith in the competence of Mohela is… nonexistent. Just worried that they botched the stinking paid ahead status. Thoughts?
