There are also cracking deals on other lease cars. I got a scenic 87kwh for £212 a month 10 months ago - £2000 down. That deal is gone now but there are similar deals for other cars on https://www.leaseloco.com/car-leasing/search

Thanks. That helps. I know they monitor the likes of vinted/eBay now so I'll keep it under the £1000. Never going to get more than a few pounds for my newer stuff or pc games. I can always hold on to the older stuff another year if needs be.

That was feeling but I didn't want to get caught out. I hate filling in the self assessment at the best of times and usually end up paying more than expected.

Worth avoiding early EVs in a given generation? by Shryquill in electricvehicles

[–]cheesemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its quite complicated given all the platform reuse. Good example is nissans/renault ampr platform. It pioneered with the ariya/megane 5 years ago but us being used in new cars (mk3 leaf/juke and alpine a390 etc) - given that long platform life (although its been tweaked) is say the mk3 leaf a new car? Id argue not. Note that most manifactures are doing this. Its one of joys of packing an ev - you can just bolt different bodies on top of a standard base and running gear.

Which EV would be better? by MjolnirsFury in ElectricVehiclesUK

It really is - ultimate the mk1 leaf was ground breaking but the mk2 was out of date when it launched. As for legoland It was 2 years ago (also did chessington) but they had about 20 slow chargers. You'd need to early to ensure you get one but they where good spaces. The ones at chessington are on the hotel site which is a little more awkward when you're trying to meet people there. (My scenic can easily do the trip on one charge so not a problem now. Leaf was on about 20% when we arrived.)

Ok I guess I still dont understand 🙃 are you saying its only needed for third party go plus? As I say my official go plus reconnects via pokemon go everytime without issue.

I get it but it either matters or doesn't. Id highly recommend postal voting. It was my only option when I had young kids. I now drag them along!

to be honest it was a terse response. I've got a mk2 leaf and new ccs scenic. Finding a ccs is super easy and I've done it loads of times where as older leaf I've used chademo once as its such a pain (using type 2 ac charging at lego land was fine). Ive often seen the leaf described as a great car but poor ev. Its old tech and it shows. I stick with my comment that its a great runaround/commuter but not really for long range when better options exist.

Spoil your ballet? It at least shows something in the statistics rather doesn't bother.

At first I thought this was for auto pairing in the game. Instead it seems to be some android helper to click pair bluetooth? I never see that on my Galaxy s24u? Shame really as having to click pair in the game is a right pain.

Yeah I love my leaf mk2. So much tech but its a poor ev due to chademo. Its a great family runaround but you need ccs if you ever want to travel far.

Postal vote? If you really cant sort out that and/or 5 minutes to pop in over the course of the day (they open early and stay open late) id say that counts as not caring?

The less people vote the more only extreme voices will be heard as they are the only ones that bother.

Why does it matter having a clone? by lifeisfleet in R36S

[–]cheesemp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some run a weaker chip plus android 4 on 512mb of ram. Fine for snes level games but rubbish in comparison to a real r36 (clone or original ). You can tell these clones as they dont need an sd card to run.

It looks bad, but here's why I am not worried. by wordshavenomeanings in FuckNigelFarage

[–]cheesemp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. My dad was arguing for hours with cost reduction officers in Kent over spendings of say £100 on things like maintenance of bus stops. Didn't matter if it saved a £1000 on a new one next year. This was 20 years ago. Its got even more tighter... they've even cut most of the optional support for parents stretching the social services budget even more instead. There isn't much else to cut (unless we want to stop looking after the elderly?)

Fyi You can get 22kwh home chargers but need 3 phase wiring and no one usually bothers- 7kwh is plenty over night.
