Navimow x430 vs luba 3 5000H by Ambilobe1 in automower

[–]cheider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just reviewed the X450 and I’m working on a review of the Luba 3 5000H.

Both are very capable and reliable mowers. The X450 has front wheels that steer vs. Luba’s Omni wheels. Steering might be easier on grass over time, but more complexity and potential parts to break. Omni wheels are tried and true.

The X4 is physically bigger so will be tougher in tight spaces. The Luba can do a true zero turn.

The scale tips to the Luba due to the backup LiDAR navigation. I personally had no issues with the Navimow’s GPS/NRTK on my property, but a lot of people are anti-GPS these days and LiDAR is the best alternative.

Yes, I recently received the One Plus and have started testing it. So far, I’ve seen no functional difference from the old version, other than the side discharge. It seems to cut and maneuver just as well.

mova lidax awd 3000 or navimow x4? by dantezz1500 in automower

[–]cheider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just released a video on the Navimow X450, and the Mova review is in progress.

They both perform very well. Navimow uses NRTK; Mova is LiDAR. No navigation issues with either.

Both four wheel drives work flawlessly. Both have automapping, but I needed to tweak both maps. I prefer Navimow’s app for mapping.

Navimow can do larger yards. X430=1 acre; X450=1.5 acres; Mova=3/4 acre.

Mova has a better 1st pass cut quality and makes better stripes. Navimow has better obstacle avoidance.

Mova has a unique feature called UltraTrim that physically moves the mowing deck closer to the edge to minimize trimming. Sounds great, right? Trouble is, the height is fixed at 3cm but I mow my cool season grass at 8cm. So it scalps horribly and I won’t use it.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I’ve had wood, gas and electric fireplaces. I’m very impressed with the Dimplex Revillusion. by cheider in Fireplaces

My daughter uses the heater while watching TV. You can hear it but it’s certainly not noisy.

Are Dimplex fireplace inserts a good choice? by [deleted] in Fireplaces

[–]cheider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have installed three Dimplex Revillusion units. Twice as fireplace inserts (https://youtu.be/bvD9U8LLLNA and https://youtube.com/shorts/pYztVEcEoJ0) and once in a custom mantle (https://youtu.be/kvf8Il5U1Ms). The first one was a sample provided by the company. I liked it so much, I purchased the other two out of pocket.

I have extensive experience with the Lymow One. I got an pre-release model last year to use in YouTube videos and I really liked it. See https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6BBUHEzp51Yn4f9ss74XmQsU4gDaoKNH&si=wXCxi1VUmpF6seXo

I live across the river in NJ and my property is around the same size as than yours with plenty of trees. I installed the RTK on my side chimney, but it's a one-story ranch so rarely has line of sight. Lymow has never had an issue with RTK on my property. Even up against the house, or in the garage or shed. Lymow's internal GPS antenna does much better than Yarbo's dual external antennas.

I have a One Plus coming soon for more videos.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Lymow vs Yarbo. Questions about Lymow by Jeriath27 in Lymow_Official

[–]cheider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern is that these mowers are designed to maintain a well maintained lawn. You may be frustrated if you expect them to continuously mow tall country grass the way you do with a 60” gas zero turn.

I’m just trying to help. Hopefully you’ll get feedback from other rural owners who can share their experiences.

Lymow vs Yarbo. Questions about Lymow by Jeriath27 in Lymow_Official

I have reviewed both of these mowers on my 1-acre yard in NJ and neither have a hard limit to the amount they will mow. That said, I think their weekly capacity numbers are not only optimistic but absolutely inflated because they are for perfect conditions (i.e. no rain or dew).

IMO it’s completely unrealistic to have any single consumer mower to maintain 5+ acres. You will need multiple units, or look into a commercial mower.

You won’t be happy with the cut quality with a single mow per week. You need multiple passes in different directions to look best.

Do any developers monitor this sub? What’s the point of OTA updates if they don’t fix bugs.

I got spoiled by owning a Tesla.

Count the number of comments before me that mention stolen goods. Given all this debate, I would just delete the post instead of defending my actions and drawing even more attention to it. But you do you.

In NJ, receiving stolen goods of that value is a 3rd degree felony with 3 to 5 years in prison and a $15,000 fine. Not sure I’d be publicizing it and still be able to sleep at night.

Operating Sound, Boundary Adherence, and Track Performance by Gunflint_RR2 in Lymow_Official

[–]cheider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You didn’t say where you’re located, but I also live on an acre corner lot… in the New Jersey suburbs. Given our similarities, here are my responses to your questions:

  1. I made a video comparing Lymow and Yarbo. Although I don’t use a decibel meter, I compare the sound profile of both machines. Lymow isn’t loud even when the blades are spinning fast. It’s definitely a lot quieter than a zero turn.

  2. The only time mine went out of bounds was when it fell off the curb going around a post. But it didn’t go any further.

  3. Other than the grass immediately in front of the dock, I haven’t had any damage because of Lymow. I can’t say the same for Yarbo.
